I LOVED Kick-Ass! I completely understand where some people are coming from in their arguments that the film sexualizes teenagers while placing them in the midst of unbelievable violence and profanity, they are right. However, the reason I still loved the movie is because of my experience when I was a teenager. The film wasn’t a false sexualization, it wasn’t profanity you wouldn’t hear every day at every school in America, and it was a violence fantasized and role-played by every boy and some of the girls I knew. It was indicative of what the brains of America’s youth are really like.

I went to this movie hoping for a good comedy, what I got instead was a very good story, great action sequences and a really good ensemble of actors. I think they could have based an entire movie on Hit Girl alone. Definitely targeted at the younger crowd in the advertising, but a must see for anyone of any age who appreciates a good comedy. A littly bloody at times but that goes with the story. Props to Nicolas Cage for his really bad Captain Kirk impression or his really good Adam West/Batman impression.

This film really did a lot for the deconstruction of the traditional comic book movie, just like the comic was intended to do to the traditional comic book. It was satirical, funny, unique and poked fun at comics and human nature.
People who are saying this movie was garbage obviously don't understand sarcasm, or what the true purpose of the movie was. It's not intended to be extremely deep, it's not intended to be a great epic about superheroes. It's intended to be a skewed take on the traditional comic book, as well as the people who read them.
Watch it for yourself and keep in mind that it's not intended to meet expectations, standards or general pre-conceived notions. Keep an open mind, let yourself be entertained, and most importantly, don't be a complete imbecile with no sense of appreciation for originality.

This is the most fun I've had at the movies in a long time. The first half of the film is a campy, comedic, violent adventure that would satisfy any comic book fan. The final chapter of the film turns very dark and bleak filled with brutal violence and an emotional, suspensful tone that is perfectly paced and emotionally acted. The performances are all solid, done comically and seriously when needed. However, Chloe Moretz steals the show as Hit-Girl, who is incredibly talented and really slips into this character very easily. I think we can expect to see a bright future from Chloe. The film is controversial but not anything that hasn't been seen on screen before. It is rated R and that rating should be taken seriously. This film is not for children and it was never intended to be. This film is aimed at an adult audience, parents need to be responsible about what their kids watch rather than blaming films' content (which kids shouldn't be watching anyway because it's rated R!).

This was a great movie: lots of action (hardcore action, at that!) and a good story that doesn't shy away from what people who want to like movies of this type are looking for. Going into the theatre, I thought it would be yet another stupid, slap-stick comedy, but it exceeded ALL of my expectations. I was mind blown with all of the action and drama that was in the film. Without giving much away, the movie was sickening in the best way possible. And for being an 18 year old girl, surprisingly, I really enjoyed all of the gore and profanity. I can rave and rant about this movie until forever, but I just want to leave you with: SEE THIS MOVIE. It'll be worth it, I promise you. (I've already seen it three times in a span of 24 hours.) :)

Best damn movie of the year so far. Plenty of laughs and chuckles. Plot was awesome and had a couple unexpected turns. Everyone did an excellent job falling into their respective characters and alter egos.
I think the cast of this movie is going to be this generation's all-star actors/resses. I cant' wait for the sequel. If someone you know told you not to see this movie ...kick their ass..they aren't fun people at all.

I want to set the record straight, I got kissed by my date after I saw this movie and I'm felling pretty good right now, so if I could so if I could I'd probably give it 6 stars. That aside, this movie had very high expectations from me from the beginning, and exeeded them. The movie starts off with a genuinely interesting plot, where an 'average kid' decides to be a super-hero. Though it seems like the main character (kick-ass) is tossed aside halfway into the movie by the totally uncreative Father/Daughter super-duo. These two just brutally murder every single ethnic group holding a gun for the last hour of the movie, while the main character just sulks and gets laid. Then shows up at the final battle just to remind people he is the main character.
All-is-all, this movie is decent enough to warrent seeing, but don't go expecting good acting.

I've seen several movies this year and The Bounty Hunter was the only one that that I actually found entertaining.....until Kick Ass! I went to this movie by myself because I was bored and didn't expect much. From beginning to end it was great. A lot of action, a lot of story line and a lot of things that made me laugh. The time went by so quickly I forgot to eat my $13 worth of popcorn & soda! I would recommend this movie to anyone.....it didn't offend me but the language is a bit rough for smaller children I'd think.

Our family is not tremendously fond of violent movies but this one was great! The brutal violence actually worked and was an integral part of the plot of this amazing film. It was funny, infuriating, entertaining and altogether exciting to watch. It's definitely a must-see.
