I took 4 kids and my friend to see this movie and we all loved it. Tim Burton always puts a creative spin on things making a classic story with a new perspective. I love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. They are wonderful and mysterious.

I was a fan of Tim Burton before, but this is really one of, if not, his best films to-date...the 3D version is definitely the best way to see it and elevates the rich characters to another level...Johnny Depp was crazy awesome as the mad hatter and Helena Bonham Carter was amazing as the red queen…I was pleasantly surprised to see the movie was more balanced and much less dark and disney hooky than I thought it would be…definitely a reason to go to the movies!

As with all Tim Burton films, a world is created to lose yourself in. He manages to bring more depth to the story and having a strong female protagonist who stands up to convention and authority is wonderful for girls of all ages!!

Very much a Tim Burton film he's a genius when it comes to portraying the impossible. The movie was amazing the graphics and animations were unbelieveable. It is a childs movie so don't expect too much, but if you like the story of Alice then you'll love the movie.

Why did'nt this film work? What, with all the stunning visuals and well played characters the story went nowhere.I treat of nowhere. First, sacrificing Carroll's surreal plateau for this idiotic slay the dragon quest dragged everyone underground. Quest-crap relies on this good/evil myth which left us in darkness, no joy uplifting.All the creatures lost their magic and absurdity in this medieval Manichean mess.The RedQueen and the Hatter were remarkable; what a shame thier universes had to kowtow to dragonquest. PS, the 3D was for the most part, Viewmaster quality.

Yes, this is definitely a Tim Burton movie. The story line was good: Alice returns to Wonderland to slay a Dragon and return the White Queen to power. Some things in the movie were definitely done for the 3-D effect, and some were just distracting. The best performance was put in by CGI art in the form of the March Hare. It was entertainment, but unfortunately Avatar has raised the bar so high for 3-D and special effects that this one fell a little flat. It could have just been a movie...without the 3-D. It's not your childhood Alice, a bit dark.

I can't help but feel disappointment after watching the latest installment of Alice in Wonderland. Tim Burton creates a vivid landscape, but falls prey to a serious rhythm problem, leaving the audience dizzy with a world that though visually enchanting is hardly enveloping.
Depp is believable though not surprising while Wasikowska plays a disengaged Alice who feels like she is experiencing the film through a looking glass. The sole bright spot is Bonham Carter who brings a love/hate realism to the Red Queen creating excitement any time she graces the screen.
With scenes resembling Pirates of the Caribbean, this film ends feels more like a compromise between the ultra-creative Burton and a studio desperate to find a new franchise.

This movie in 3D is once again a great Tim Burton Imagination feature. The creative aspect of this movie is the best part of the movie. The story line is a bit lacking, but over all the scenery was fantastic. Johnny Depp played a perfect insane role. Although a small role, Anne Hathaway was brilliant. Little Can be said for Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover. I took my 8 year old to see it, but would not recommend children younger than 10. It is a bit on the scary side for the younger children. Indeed see this in 3D to get the full effect.

I must start off by saying that I am not a big fan of Burton. I don't hate Burton but I don't think he's the "Super Special Genius" either. With that said I think thios film was run of the mill at best. I like Johnny Depp as an artist but this was not a memorable roll for him. The 3D was good but added nothing to the movie to make it anymore entertaining so see it in 2D and save yourself the extra 3-4 bucks to get that small popcorn that you have been craving. Not sure if you want to see this movie? Wait for DVD/Blueray, you'll pay the same for the disc and have all the comforts of home while viewing. On the plus side, Mia Wasikowska(Alice) does a great job and is pretty cute on top of that.

To preface this review, i am a tim burton fan. I love the dark qualities of allof his movies even when hidden(edward). That being said, my family and I were not disappointed! The visuals were beautiful and the story funny-sad-sweet all at the same time. My 5 year old especially loved the end! Some parts a little scary if not used to these movies but otherwise rich with detail and meaning. I loved it!!!!

That would be the best way to approach this movie without becoming lost. Alice is all grown up which confuses you at first but it becomes clear towards the end. The 3d was spectacular, the visuals were breathtaking, and the acting was wonderful.

I was receiving texts from friends that had seen this movie - awesome, dark, where is the happy Alice? - but did not answer until I saw the film - WOW!!!! The moment it started you could see Tim Burton written all over the screen....COOL! I kinda knew the plot but was totally taken in when the story started. So happy to see a young female, during that time, come into her own. Welcome to the adult world. Alice!

My first 3D and thought it was great. The story was a little slow, but characters were so funny, loved the cat, queen of hearts, and of course, mad hatter.

visually stunning and intriguing, Alice is a strong-willed and toothsome hero, while all of the supporting characters really make the film.

Took my family to see this classic...we were pleasantly surprised. Sometimes 3-D just doesn't cut it. This time, it was very good. The storyline was great, the effects were very good and it was well worth the money to see it. Enjoyed every part of it.

I, too, have been looking forward to this movie. I expected it to be visually stunning, which it was, but also to have Tim Burton's wonderfully skewed, dark new take on the story. Unfortunately, there really was no story, and no surprises. We learn nothing new about these characters, and what little plot there is is foretold within the first 20 minutes and then we simply watch it unfold. Burton brings no point of view to the material and seemingly uses it just as an excuse for sumptuous art direction. I was bored halfway through, as were the adults and children around me. A miss.
