As with all Tim Burton films, a world is created to lose yourself in. He manages to bring more depth to the story and having a strong female protagonist who stands up to convention and authority is wonderful for girls of all ages!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

One of the best metaphors for the history of the native people of this continent, of the entire hemisphere! Look beyond the special effects and get a history lesson in the invasion of the Americas by the Europeans, the treatment of the indigenous people, and the total disregard for their culture, spirituality and the ecological balance of the land. It's still happening. No wonder Sully "went native!"
