As a childrens movie, it's great. It's not the dark and spooky movie that parents envision when they see Tim Burton's name attatched to it.
For older fans, I can say that I was very impressed by everyone except Tim Burton. He really dropped the ball, trying (and failing) to give Alice a coherent and engaging storyline.
Great graphics, great acting, however, as the characters spend half of the movie debating, it's "just not Alice."

This was a great movie considering it came originally from Lewis Carroll and retold byTim Burton. The special effects, costumes, characters, actors, actresses, and the plot were exceptional and believable. The only reason that I wanted to see this movie in the first place is because of Johnny Depp. I think he is one of the most talented and kindest actors in the business. The movie was worth the time and money that I spent. Although, they could have left out the crude adult humor with fake female parts because of children's viewing. Strange but entertaining!

I went to this movie with hopes for at least something decent, I mean, it's hard to mess up a pre-existing story, right? I was very excited to see this movie! I thought it was good - the colors, animation, graphics etc were beautiful, but the story left a little to be desired. It is def NOT a movie for small children as some parts are a bit scary. I saw it in 3D - the glasses they provided were different than other glasses that I've used in the past. They were non- disposable & heavy and were large and didn't stay on very well, they were also a bit hard to see through which made it quite distracting though the whole movie. According to other friends that have seen the movie in other theaters, these type of glasses are being used universally. Though I was a bit disappointed in the story I would def recommend seeing this in theaters for the beautiful visuals.

Maybe I'm bias because I love Tim Burton, but this movie was actually BETTER than I had expected. All the characters were so well done and so fun I never wanted the movie to end. I will say that I think the PG rating was a little lax because if I were a kid, some parts of this movie would have scared me.

I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp together, and this one didn't disappoint! I thought the 3D was good, but the movie would be just as good without. Since it is Tim Burton, I don't recommend it for little ones, but the PG rating says it all.

Personally I liked the style of his 3D allowin you to get into the film but not being so obvious with the 3D effects shooting out direcltly at you.
The story was an interesting adaptation of the original and while it was somewhat predictable it wa still good.
My Wife on the other hand was disappointed in the lack of overt 3D effects shooting at you and since we sat much farther back from the screen she believe that the move was less enjoyable. She however went in with very high expectations.

I found this movie to be really disappointing. The character development is horrible. So many characters pop in and out of the story so often and so arbitrarily that they and their actions cease to have any meaning. None of the real motives are ever really depicted, and even Alice's character is thoroughly underdeveloped. Alice's character is simply a whimsical girl who falls down a hole and is aided by a vast array of strangers for little or no reason to overthrow a queen with a big head with, again, little or no cause.

My daughter and I went to see this movie in Disney Digital 3-D for my birthday present. Awesome!! We loved the movie and it's special effects. If I hadn't known in advance that Johnny Depp was appearing in the movie, I would never have recognized him. The costume, the flaming red hair and the extensive make-up really transformed him. He was a riot! Kept us LOL. I would recommend this movie to anybody.

Five of us saw "Alice..." together, ranging in age from 7 years to 73 years old. We all enjoyed the movie very much. As my grandson said when the movie ended, and the butterfly flew into the audience,"Awesome"! He wasn't just talking about the butterfly; the whole movie was great. For the older people, Alice being a teenager was an interesting take on the story, and a very cool way to update the story a bit. The casting, voice and live actor, was truly inspired.

Beautiful movie with a feminist undertone. Definitely a must see on the big screen. Does a great job of blending the grown up Alice with the original story, if you appreciate cinematography you will not be disappointed.
