Every now and then a movie comes along that is entertainment in the best sense.
Two gorgeous stars with wattage AND chemistry to spare give nuanced, understated performances while all around them is chaotic non-stop action. You will laugh, you will smile and you will want to see it again.
Tom Cruise has grown up. This is a real performance not his usual teeth and intensity. There is a gentleness and openness that will grab your heart. Cameron Diaz is gorgeous, open and yes, you will fall into those blue eyes. Together they are the Astaire & Rogers of action/romance flicks.
I can't wait to see it again.

The previews give you a pretty accurate view of what this movie really is: a lot of good, action-packed fun with some obvious & well-played chemistry between Cruise & Diaz. Can't really give it 5 stars because the film's VERY tongue-in-cheek & asks you to swallow a lot in the way of stunts & plot developments; but if you just accept the action/romantic comedy film it labels itself as (with a few nice, unexpected plot twists thrown in), then there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy this immensely. Nice supporting roles from Peter Sarsgaard & Paul Dano.

OK, Cameron Diaz is no Angelina Jolie, and there is a point where you wonder if this movie will go on and On and ON . . . but nothing's perfect, right? So you're wondering why we gave it a 5 after that lead-in? Well, this is perfectly entertaining and well worth the time to watch it. Our 18 year old niece went with us, and she ended up giving it a 5 also, when all was said and done. Surprisingly, Cruise and Diaz work well together in this humorous romp with plenty of great action scenes and some minor mind-bending, all wrapped up in a chick flick. And although Viola Davis' part is tiny and well beneath her incredible acting talents, it's wonderful to see her any time in any role, like the always-wonderful Celia Weston. Together these two greatly enjoyable actresses add immensely to the landscape of what is, otherwise, almost exclusively Cruise and Diaz, and they complement the stars and plot instead of detract from it, as is so often the case. Here's hoping there's a sequel!

As long as you suspend your disbelief, the movie is wonderful and fun to watch. The stunts are imaginative and outlandish, the fight scenes are well orchestrated. It is nice to see the female lead is not simply a damsel in distress, but has strength of character and fighting skills of her own. The opening car chase one of the best and funniest I've ever seen. Cruise is in top form as the boy next door secret agent type. Cameron performs very well but please, why so many closeups of a face that is marginal at best? (Wouldn't the cute and humorous Rachel McAdams have been better here?) The plot is a predictable mash of action man meets woman films; James Bond, Jason Bourne, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The Cruise/Diaz chemistry works and the director keeps the comedy (slapstick really) and the action nicely woven. But those who rated this 5 stars saw a different film than I did.

"Light entertainment" is one thing. Unbelievable entertainment is something else. I suppose we're just supposed to accept all the unexplained occurrences that happen here "because it's a movie", but Ms. Diaz starts off as a dim bulb and winds up as a Fullbright scholar. Not to mention the many transports of unconscious bodies and escape scenarios that are never explained either. If you don't care about these implausibilities, go for it. If little things like logic gaps bug you, stay at home and rent a good Cruise thriller like The Firm. Not that that one's perfect, but it makes more sense then this did.

The movie seemed long and really was only good toward the end. Cruise and Diaz are very nice to look at which made the implausible action scenes (which took up most of the movie) bearable. Pros-Diaz and Cruise play off each other well and are really cute together. Funny and light, with good chemistry.
Cons-Action scenes were a little disappointing, I kinda expect them a little more realistic and better done if Cruise is gonna be in the movie. Also, you really know what was gonna happen a couple times as it was so predictble.
All in all, suspend reality. Forget you have a brain and just go enjoy some cute light banter and a view of Cruises hot tight abs.

I liked this movie for the quirky dialogue and characters, which Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz pull off beautifully. Also the actor who played the child prodigy -- another well-written/acted part. Alot of the funniest lines were in the previews, but still ... the dialogue was pretty much always entertaining. Just a few times, I thought the plot was thin, even for a comedy. But then I loved many of the other improbable parts so it's not much of a criticism. Overall, enjoyable, especially if a crazy comedy is what you are in the mood for.

This movie was very fun and entertaining. While it certainly wasn't the best action movie, nor the best comedy I have ever seen, Knight and Day combined those two elements pleasingly.
Some of the stunts are fantastic, even if implausible in the real world. Looks like Tom Cruise is finally getting his feet back under him and turning out some decent movies.

Other than the car chases and shoot em ups, which you see in the trailer, best to go to Red Box and rent any of the Mission Impossible flix, you will have a better experience. Bad accents, bad acting, an overall bad experience.

Great Movie- Very action packed and funny! Took our 11 year old daughter and she enjoyed it too. Even though PG-13, it was appropriate for her- light violence and language, but the humor in the movie made up for it. Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were very funny together!

An extremely implausible plot (but then I'd expected that), with, I have to say, some good humor between the two lead characters, but so far fetched and in so many locations.
Putting two big stars in multiple exotic locations, having them in swimsuits DOES not a blockbuster make!!
