Every now and then a movie comes along that is entertainment in the best sense.
Two gorgeous stars with wattage AND chemistry to spare give nuanced, understated performances while all around them is chaotic non-stop action. You will laugh, you will smile and you will want to see it again.
Tom Cruise has grown up. This is a real performance not his usual teeth and intensity. There is a gentleness and openness that will grab your heart. Cameron Diaz is gorgeous, open and yes, you will fall into those blue eyes. Together they are the Astaire & Rogers of action/romance flicks.
I can't wait to see it again.

No to Shutter Island

Dark, deary, dull, dank, and drowning in dialogue.
If you liked Mystic River (another dark, dank, pointless movie) you might enjoy this movie, but to be honest I can't imagine anyone enjoying this movie. It is downlifting (as in
opposite of uplifting)

At best it is also silly and preposterous.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
