The met live broadcasts are a fabulous addition to our culture. I have to say that the sound systems vary greatly. Some theaters don't seem to have the broadcasts hooked up to their main systems, and the sound is very bad, with just one speaker going through the screen. The Randolph AMC had GREAT sound, and that made it wonderful. It was an exciting Tosca, and the lead singers were just the best.

This whole concept of high def broadcasts ot the Met is an unexpected treat. I saw the rerun of Tosca. It was as good a production as I have ever seen. Scarpia was perfect as was the performance of the other artists. Singers can act!!! The sound quality was much improved over last year. I won't miss a performance.

This was the first time I had been to The Metropolitan Opera at the movies. It was a lovely experience.
First off, the music was terrific - mainly because Puccini is my favorite opera composer. Secondly, the singers were fabulous, mostly hitting every note right-on.
Thirdly, I thought it was better than going to see the opera in person because I got to see the facial expressions of the performers.
Fourthly, I really enjoyed seeing all of the backstage goings-on. I had no idea that so very many people worked backstage on the props.
I used this performance to introduce a friend of mine to the opera. She loved it. And the price is much more in line with her ability to pay.
All in all, a wonderful experience.

This was the first time I saw a production of Tosca. I sat there absolutely enthralled by the story, the emotion, and the stunning music and voices. The acting was superb. I really believed those characters were inhabiting their roles. Can't wait until the next production.
