Contrasts

from Brevard, NC
Johan Botha was vocally excelent, but, as was true of all three principals, they represented the old type of opera acting--singing to the audience instead of the others on the stage,
and showed no bodily or facial expressions.
It was in sharp contrast to the principals of
Tosca who you could see as well as hear their emotions.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Marcello & Karita are examplesof the new
breed of opera performers who not only sing
but show emotions and are physically believable for their roles.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
