I thought this movie was one of the best animation films in a very long time. Very funny and loved it in 3-D. My 4 year old sat through the entire film and was fascinated with the 3-D effects. Would recommend for children 4-10.

The drawings and animation in this movie are definitely above average, as are the 3D effects. There are some nice messages about parents loving their children even when they don't agree, and about people needing to just be themselves. Food aside though, there just isn't much meat to the plot. This didn't bother my children at all, however. It's a fine movie for an afternoon with the kids, but don't bring a date.

This was a children’s book that was extremely cute and original that my kids loved for me to read to them. When I heard that the book was going to be made into a movie I wondered how it was going to happen. Well, they change the story and made it fantastic. This was funnier than I expected, and much of the humor was too subtle for little kids. There was enough visual entertainment to keep the two kids with me fully engaged. They are 7 and 3 1/2; the older one could really appreciate the 3-D, but she said the glasses made her eyes hurt. The little one gave up on the glasses altogether. Why weren't kid-size glasses available?

We loved the movie itself...and we realized when buying tickets that the movie is rated PG...my child is 6. Our issue is that one of the trailers (for a movie named Avatar) is also PG but crazy scary for a young child. It has mutant-like human/animal creatures, tons of violence, scary music...I could on and on. I am sure that they realize young children are coming to see Meatballs b/c it is animated...therefore, the trailers should be based more on possible audiences instead of PG ratings alone. so if you choose to go see it, please prepare to cover your child's eyes when you see a young man in a wheel chair...the scary images are soon to follow. And nevermind the questions i had to answer about the Michael Jackson trailer.

I went in dreading seeing this movie, but I had promised my 10 year old that we would go. I couldn't imagine how a successful movie could be adapted from such a shallowly plotted book? It was early release day and I took my 10 year old and his buddy. I set my expectations very low and came out laughing and going over different scenes with the boys. They laughed and giggled the whole way through. The plot does take different turns but I thought the whole thing was very enjoyable. I really loved the whole father son relationship and the importance of communicating (listening and speaking). Good time for us.

My children and I loved the book and now the movie too! The 3-D is great! Watching people get attacked by corn on the cob and slices of pizza is quite amusing, even for an adult! I saw this movie with my 6 year old. While it isn't off the charts great, as in, 'toy story,' the movie was funny, entertaining and had a good, wholesome story for children. There is "too much of a good thing," and the movie helps us all to appreciate what we've got - each other and how greed can be a bad thing - and its really funny too!

Smaller glasses and more thoughtful application made this 3D movie a blast to watch.
You don't need kids as an excuse to see this one...I just hope they make stuffed "ratbirds" in time for the holidays.
