My children and I loved the book and now the movie too! The 3-D is great! Watching people get attacked by corn on the cob and slices of pizza is quite amusing, even for an adult! (as usual with animated movies these days, there is always plenty of humor that only an adult would get!). I definitely recommend this movie, especially for people trying to lose weight! This movie has a way of making people lose their appetite!!
I really enjoyed this movie. I have always really, really disliked President Bush and didn't really care for Laura Bush so I was surprised that I walked away from the movie actually feeling something (other than anger) toward the President. Clearly Oliver Stone didn't intend this to happen but he accomplished virtually the impossible: making Bush sympathetic and likeable.
I took my two young children to this movie yesterday, and we all loved it! (I think me the most!!) It's an adorable love story, a life lesson (my children kept wanting to know about how earth was ruined by all the trash), and really cool animation! My 6-year-old said later she loved it but found it to be sad sometimes. I found it sad at times too but it has a very happy ending so no one will walk away gloomy! As with all animated movies, I often think I appreciate moments more than my young children possibly can (for instance, they do not understand the scene with the Rubik's cube but it sure brought back memories for me) but they were very engrossd in the movie the entire time! I highly recommend this film for all age groups -- young and old!
