This movie had some great stuff in it, especially the development of the relationship of the married date-night couple. A down side was a really stupid sequence where the couple ended up inside some type of weirdo sex club. That part of the movie was totally out of sync with the remainder of the film and could have been written around with much better results. It would also have been cool if the Wahlberg character had put on a shirt after his initial appearance. His continuing to display his physique detracted from and cheapened the movie in this reviewer's opinion.

I truthfully had never watched tina fey on SNL and not a fan of steve carell, but this was one of the funniest movies i've seen in a long time. I even "belly- laughed" @ one point. Of course seeing Mark W. was a highlight, it kept me intrigued. I will either go to see it again @ the theatre, or wait for it on DVD.

It was about what I expected. Made me laugh in a few spots. Had some really funny smart jokes, and of course had a couple of completely dead spots in it just to get to the one hour and a half marker. If you have nothing else to do on a Saturday night, this is a good, solid choice.

This is a light, funny, action-packed affair. Tina Fey is her normal funny, attractive self. Steve Carell, who usually doesn't impress me, was versatile and funny. Definitely worth the time if you want a couple of hours of high-energy entertainment.

i didnt think this movie would be this good. i honestly mainly seen it because my girlfriend wanted to and we both loved it. it was pretty hilarious throughout the movie. its the definition of "short but sweet." id give this movie like a B+. everyone was really funny for the most part and im surprised that steve carell and tina fey havent teamed up before. theyre a perfect match. if theres nothing else up that you know will be better or that you really wanna see, definitely see date night

The movie was OK, but if you're looking for side-splitting humor, maybe you should look elsewhere. There's a lot wrong with this movie but a lot right with it too. It is far-fetched, long and and downright clunky in parts. But Tina Fey and Steve Carrel have a quirky chemistry that is entirely believable and is the best part of the film. Their characters, Phil and Claire Foster, really do love each other but family and career obligations have distanced them. There is a unique chase scene that brightens up a boing part. I'd say see this movie for a bit of fun but you won't remember it a month from now..

I went with my wife. We have two young kids. The movie felt like a fun room mirror. Carell and Fey WERE the movie. They are great together and I hope they get a chance to work together with a script with more teeth. There were so many funny bit characters I wish they all had a chance to breath more life into the movie. Clearly there was only budget for a taste of them. The movie also made me realize how much I miss Ray Liotta. He was so under-represented he doesn't even appear to show up in the credits or IMDB master cast list! Note to sequel writers: Either put Carell in a thong and "go with it" or skip the pole dancing next time out.

I usually stay for the whole thing but was hard presssed to watch to the bitter end of Date Night. Love Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Took my boyfriend who was a bit reluctant to see the movie, and he never stopped laughing. Nor did I. It was a really fun story, light and distracting. Would definitely recommend it to all my friends. The last scene was great!
