Cinema At It's Best

This is the type of movie that makes Saturday night at the theater so enjoyable. Sadly, it rarely happens, but when it does, I get that warm, fuzzy feeling of a night well spent. You can never go wrong with a Cohen brothers project. Some are better than others, but this one's probably in my top 5 for them. The dialogue and acting along with the excellent cinematography are what makes this film a pleasure. You all know what it's about so I'm not going to re-hash. Just go see it.

Solid

This is good, unpredictable show. Starts out fast, then there's a slow, yet tension filled middle. Then you get the wonderful climax at the end with the inventive ending. Beautiful cinematography in some small town in Italy with narrow, cobblestone streets and mountain vistas. The 2 main female characters are easy on the eyes too.

Best I've Seen In Awhile

My wife and I frequent the movies a couple of times per month and this is the best show I've seen in quite awhile. Probably the best of the year. At times, you'll be confused as to what is going on, but It'll all make sense in the end. And the end is great! You'll be thinking about this movie for awhile afterwards. The special effects are top notch Avatar quality, although we didn't go to the 3d version. Acting is fantastic. Go see it, you won't be dissapointed!

Your Average Action Blockbuster

Pretty much what I expected. Nothing special though. Nowhere near as good as the first one. This is probably going to be Mickey Rourkes last big gig. He sucks. Has anyone noticed how hard it is to understand what Robert Downey Jr. is saying half the time? Sounds like he mumbling in alot of movies lately. I love Don Cheadle though.

Good, Solid Comedy

It was about what I expected. Made me laugh in a few spots. Had some really funny smart jokes, and of course had a couple of completely dead spots in it just to get to the one hour and a half marker. If you have nothing else to do on a Saturday night, this is a good, solid choice.

A Feast For The Eyes

The storyline is pretty predictable, but this is the first movie of it's kind and unbelievable to watch. I'll be thinking about this one for some time. $14 a ticket kinda sucks, but that's ok. The created a world like no other with the best special effects and sound I've ever seen or heard. Go see it!

Not Bad

I didn't know what this movie was going to be about but since Denzel's in it you can't go wrong. Starts out great, but then about 30 min in it slows down. The shootout scene near the end is unforgettable and worth the price of admission. Excellent cinematography makes up for alot of the script issues. And of course, Denzel's the man. I'd say if you've seen Avatar and Up In The Air, then this should be your next show.

Nothing Special

Another run of the mill comedy with a couple of good laughs, but other than that, not very memorable. Seth and Anna did a good job and it was good to see Ray Liotta back doing his thing. The acting was good. There just wasn't much of a script to work with. I'd recommend it for a night out, but just don't get your expectations up too much.

After all the pub Winslet received for her thespianiasm, I was fairly optimistic about going to see this show. Problem was, there was no show. We almost walked out 30 minutes in, but I figured Winslet and DiCaprio get their choice of screenplays and can't fail. Why they chose to do this movie together I'll never know. I'll admit, the acting and production was excellent, but man what a boring, predictable "show" this was. Save your money.

A Pleasant Surprise

We went to go see this movie after all the accolades it's been receiving on the award shows. Many times, you'll go to one of these critically acclaimed movies and be totally disappointed, but not this time. This one lived up to the hype. I'm sure you've all read what it's about so I wont go into that. I'm just glad a movie like this got made in the first place and made it to the American market. We need more movies like this. Excellent cinematography. The movies shows the beauty of India, but also shows just how filthy and corrupt it is also. The dividing line between being born on the right side of the tracks or the wrong side of the tracks is vast. What a story of survival! Not one to be forgotten.
