This movie is awesome in every way. First the story is great and the writing is excellent. The movie has a timeless story and can be understood by any and all. The imagery is beyond words. For any individual to dream this up shows that they have a truly unique point of view. Whether the movie is seen in imax, 3d or all your in for a total movie experience. No negative points, the 3 hours seemed to fly by and moviegoers were sitting on the edge of their seats. Final words, go see it!!!!

You just have to see it for yourself to fully appreciate. I can tell you that it feels like you're inside the movie, the graphics are fabulous, etc. All that is true, but until you see for yourself, you're truly missing out!

The special effects were astounding and there were a lot of nice touches -- I especially liked the white spidery creatures that seemed to float out of the screen and land on your arm -- but overall I was put off by the many gruesome and violent battle scenes.

I've never felt so completely immersed inside a movie world before. James Cameron has created this world that you want to be a part of. The scenery on the screen is some of the most strikingly vibrant images I've ever experienced in a movie. The story blends elements of all the social issues of our current lives while giving a glimpse of what our life could become if we don't change course. Finally it's just one heck of a movie watching experience and not to be missed, period.

AVATAR was awesome, action packed, visually stunning and had a message for the world. Question is ---did everyone get it? Locally it has been sold out for weeks every weekend - well worth the wait to see it in IMAX theaters. I also think it is inspiring motivation for future movie makers, technicians, artists, anyone interested in going into this business. A great show !!!

Avatar is amazing at an IMAX theater, a must see! But be forewarned; take a dramamine if you have any motion problems because you will be flying and moving a lot!
The movie lived up to the hype and won't have the same impact on a television screen...no matter how large. Worth the money!

I was not as interested as much in the plot, than on how just amazing it was to experience this new technology. The story was still really good, very predictable. But i think had a I washed this in a regular theatre instead of the IMAX 3D, it would have gotten just 3 stars from me. loved it, really recommend it. just amazing!

After months and months of hype, I was prepared to NOT like this movie. Alas, that was not the case and I've seen it twice now. I enjoyed the 2nd time even more as I was able to look in detail at the extreme detail Cameron took on each scene. The plants lighting up with each step, the detail in every background scene. It was meticulous and awe-inspiring. Yes, the story has been done, but certainly not in this vehicle and it worked for me. Bravo.

EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT!!!! There is no surprise why it is still being sold out today even though it first came out last year!!
The sound, the graphic, the screen, and the way you are sitting to view the screen in the best way!! It just made the movie 10X better. The fact that the movie itself is excellent by itself just made it the greatest experience!!!!
P.S. This was the 2nd time I saw this movie and the 1st time in IMAX and the money was well worth it and well spent! (>_<)

The storyline is familiar but the telling of the tale is unique. The effects are visual and sensory. I found myself wide eyed and not blinking for fear of missing a moment. This is a big screen must see...it will not have the same impact in a home theater setting.

After all the hype about how awesome Avatar was, I was talked into seeing it. I don't care for sci-fi movies, but my friends all said they liked it, so I gave it a shot. I should have trusted my initial instincts and declined. The movie was nothing more than visual effects. Yes, the animantion was beautiful, but that was the extent of the movie. I wasn't drawn to any of the characters and the story line was weak.

The most stunning movie I have seen since the second Star Wars movie, #V. The visual effects and 3D are breathtaking and without equal, and although somewhat predictable, the plot is still engrossing and keeps you interested. As he wanted, Cameron has indeed made a movie that must be seen in the theater to be fully appreciated and enjoyed and I will be returning for a third viewing.

Paid extra $ for the wife & me to see a Sci-Fi Western in IMAX/3D. Got there 1 hour early 4 less than the best seats. Sold out for Sat. showing & at least 25% of the audience had seen it before. Nobody took a break, the action & effects were spellbinding, feeling of being part of the action was so intense we had to force ourselves to relax and catch our breath. Cameron not only created something to bring us TO the movies he's brought us INTO the movie so intensely that it became physical. At the end we asked how can that have been 3hrs? We had been transported through time & space, now we're back in reality. Reality isn't as much fun, we want to go back & anyone who spends the time & money will realize that it was a priceless experience.

The quality of the CGI along with the 3Dand the Imex just blew me away! he story was really well done and the special effects on the facial expressions was (pardon the pun) out of this world..
The time and effort that went in to this film was definately worth it. I would recommend this film for any one of any age..

Absolutly amazing movie. the experince in 3d imax was out of this world. you could see all the beautiful colors and even the finite deatail. i woudl suggest u watch this movie 2 times as the first time ur trying to catch everthing going on that u miss some lil detail things. i watched a 2nd time and saw so many other things that i didn't notice the first time. completly awsome movie.

The brilliantly created world of Pandora and its storyline are highly entertaining. The CGI, graphics, and special effects are astounding. I found the themes of inter-connectedness appealing, but fairly rote and predictable. I also find it somewhat ironic that the film expounds on the evils of corporate greed and militarism, yet the war scenes near the end clearly appeal to an audience enamored of special effects depicting this type of "action." Still, I came away from the movie with visions of the searing beauty of the fantastical world of Pandora etched in my conciousness. I recommend this movie as en extraordinary visual experience, a harbinger of the future of film-making.

No suprises here. Cliches and stereotypes abound. No logic in the scientific explanations & you'll have to suspend your disbelief. However, I was shocked at how fast the 2 1/2 hours flew by, action-packed, with no extraneous dialogue. The main reason for the 4 stars, had to do with the 3D techn & CGI characters & scenery. It made predictable storyline exciting as you awaited the next stunning visual. Technology is the star, and Cameron once again has challenged his peers in the industry. Just like he upped the ante with Titanic, he has raised my expectations for all films of this type. Now if he could just get back to the great, genuinely original plot of a movie like Alien.So, nutshell approach, see Avatar in 3D. Don't bother if you don't.
