No suprises here. Cliches and stereotypes abound. No logic in the scientific explanations & you'll have to suspend your disbelief. However, I was shocked at how fast the 2 1/2 hours flew by, action-packed, with no extraneous dialogue. The main reason for the 4 stars, had to do with the 3D techn & CGI characters & scenery. It made predictable storyline exciting as you awaited the next stunning visual. Technology is the star, and Cameron once again has challenged his peers in the industry. Just like he upped the ante with Titanic, he has raised my expectations for all films of this type. Now if he could just get back to the great, genuinely original plot of a movie like Alien.So, nutshell approach, see Avatar in 3D. Don't bother if you don't.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
