The IMAX 3D experience for Avatar is absolutely AMAZING! I just saw it since they re-released it in select theaters and it was SOOOOOOOOO worth it. I believe seeing it at home won't be the same. A definite MUST see at the theaters!

3 hours of predictable plot, but great scifi 3D. I managed to finally make the rerelease at the only show 11pm, convincing my wife and kids that it was either that or I buy a 3D TV and all the accessories. So with everyone tucked safely in bed, dad went for it!
It was very good, although I did check my watch at 1am (probably since it was late, rather than boredom, but the movie did hit a low around that time). It had something something everyone would like, but PG13 seems appropriate due to the massive violence. The movie also pushes the tree hugger religion to an all new high - but ignoring the obvious message made the movie entertaining. About 20 minutes into the movie, I figured out the end of the movie, which is kind of sad considering the end was around 2.5 hours away and I had to wait to find out if I was right or wrong. That and the fact that at the tail end, the jar head violates at least 4 laws of physics (which I ignored for aliens, but for humans...)

When you think of Best Picture movies I think it should be one that you will see in a few years and still be great. This is one of those movies. Went with our 8 year old son who loved it as much as we did!

I thought that this movie was worth the wait & hype. Just when you thought that it was over, it kept going. Only complaint was the theatre. There was no difference between this IMAX experience & the regular 3D experience, other than the cost. I guess I expected more of IMAX. It was nothing more than a slightly curved screen. What a dissapointment.

Amazing!! You would never know how long this movie is as it is completely action all the way! I really feel like this movie is for everyone! Looking at the previews I wasn't impressed but forcing myself to go see it was worth every minute.

I had to see this movie before it left the theaters and I am so so glad I did. Don't drink any thing for 3 to 4 hours before you go in. There is no intermission (shouldn't be either), and since you won't want to leave the theater for a bathroom break break .....
The scenery, for lack of a better word, is breathtaking and the 3D takes it even further. The plot is really good too. I will go to see it again and maybe again if I can get free.

This was the most amazing movie I have ever seen! And the 3D IMAX experience just made it that much better! There were so many stories within this film, so much more than just good vs evil. It was about love, fighting for what you believe, doing what is right no matter what the consequence. This is a must see movie!!! Absolutely spectacular!

The special effects in this movie were spectacular, especially if you see it in 3-D. However, the plot has been played out. (i.e. White man tries to dislodge indians, then indians fight back and win.) I've seen this plot device used so many times. I feel like it's kicking a dead horse. As a society, we've seen this over and over again in plenty of movies. The point has been made. I like going to movies for entertainment, not to be preached at.

I loved this movie enough to see it twice. I don't know if it was because of the 3-D, but I felt intimately connected with the characters, much more so than I do with movies usually. I wanted to become a N'avi too and could see how I would fit into the world of the N'avi of Pandora. And it made me think a lot about my own life and what I can do to live more in harmony with nature. I am sure I will want to watch it again and I look forward to the day my kids are old enough to see it.

The world James Cameron and his writers created lives within a category of it's own. They seemed to have pulled influences from many past sci fi flicks and built their own dimension. The plot altho simple and done many times in the past is executed flawlessly. The scenery and costumes only add to the overall movie. Definitely a feast for the eyes in 3d. I felt pulled on both sides continually...on one side you have resources and societal progression, on the other hand you have a genuine sense of awareness of being a member of this world. In the end movies like this remind us how delicately we must approach and balance issues such as conservation and tribal/ethnic/racial differences

I am just an average girl that enjoys going to the movies. This is a wonderful movie that is truly epic. I sat in awe of the amazing world that this movie allows us to venture to. IIf you love action and beautiful cinematography you must see this. I can't say enough. You just have to see it for yourself. I absolutely loved it!

Avatar, although predictable, offered good eye candy on the IMAX 3-D screen. It's basically a rerun of Pocahontas but visual. It was a good movie overall, even with a flat script.

I loved Avatar! To me, an interesting life (or movie) doesn't depend on the predictability of the plot (hey, we all die!). This movie was masterful and creative, but the best thing was the "little moments", which were filled with passion, humor, and reverence for nature and other cultures--we all need more of that. It's all in the details! Deeply inspiring.

Say what you will about the predictability of the plot, its lack of originality, or its thinly veiled message. However, the execution is flawless. James Cameron does it again. Visually stunning, a story that sucks you in, and some notably strong performances -- particularly Zoe Saldana, whose Best Actress snub is criminal. A must-see for movie lovers of all genres.

Went to the movie with my wife, 18yo son and 13 yo daughter. The entire experience was incredible. The movie has something for everyone. Action, Battle, Suspense, Love Story! And the movie was visually stunning. All members of the family enjoyed the feature. I cannot remember a film in recent memory that emotionally invloved me the way Avatar did!

This is one of the best made films I've ever seen. The last time I left the movie theater feeling like this was Forest Gump a long time ago. Although this movie is allot different than forest gump, it takes you on a journey and makes you feel like your in a dream. The 3d experience was awesome, and I would say this is a must see on the big screen. I was not even thinking about how much it cost when I left.

This is the best movie I have ever seen, and I have seen it 20 times as of this writing.
It is amazing because of the technology and passion that went into creating the amazingly realistic world of Pandora and the Na'vi. It is also thought-provoking because of the clear message it sends. It turns a mirror on us, as humans, and many people don't like what they see.
Everyone should really see this once. Don't watch it with expectations- watch it for the wonderful bit of movie magic that it is. Most of the bad reviews I have read are from people who had expectations going in that weren't met. This is NOT like every other Cameron movie. It is NOT just an alien battle movie. It is NOT just a war movie.
