3 hours of predictable plot, but great scifi 3D. I managed to finally make the rerelease at the only show 11pm, convincing my wife and kids that it was either that or I buy a 3D TV and all the accessories. So with everyone tucked safely in bed, dad went for it!
It was very good, although I did check my watch at 1am (probably since it was late, rather than boredom, but the movie did hit a low around that time). It had something something everyone would like, but PG13 seems appropriate due to the massive violence. The movie also pushes the tree hugger religion to an all new high - but ignoring the obvious message made the movie entertaining. About 20 minutes into the movie, I figured out the end of the movie, which is kind of sad considering the end was around 2.5 hours away and I had to wait to find out if I was right or wrong. That and the fact that at the tail end, the jar head violates at least 4 laws of physics (which I ignored for aliens, but for humans...)
Yes, I recommend this movie.
