Loved this movie! It really seemed to accurately portray Julia Child, and Meryl was simply amazing. Made me want to go home and cook. We have lost a lot of the art of cooking (and eating!) and it's so nice to have a movie that reminds us of that simple joy.

Everything from the stroyline to the acting was excellent. Merryl Streep was spot on with Julia's mannerisms. I laughed so hard tears came to my eyes on a few scenes. Loved it!

While I do believe Ms. Streep overshadowed the younger Ms. Adams a bit, the film was overall balanced very well. Funny, with a real plot...novel these days. Paris was beautifully done in period. Loved it.

I saw this movie at 9:30 PM and it kept me interested all throughout. Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, and Stanley Tucci were superb. Combining these two stories was clever and interesting. It reminded me of The Hours by Michael Cunningham but on a lighter note. Go and see!

I loved Meryl Streep as Julia Child. What a force she is on screen!! The story line following her life was brilliant. Julie Powell, on the other hand, came off as a whiny, insecure 'S@x in the City' type character. Watching Julie's hubby smacking his lips and chewing with his mouth open on the big screen was disgusting. I felt as if I was watching two movies; one I loved and the other I hated.

Any Adams was perfect for Julie she is adorable. I left the movie thinking Meryl was Julia Child and then reminded myself Julia was no longer with us!! This was a beautiful story of the struggles of two women with loving husbands, struggling to find meaning and direction in their lives and doing it through their love of cooking. It was funny and heartwarming and well done. It is an uplifting movie. Anyone who wants to see something positive, without violence and inapppropriate behavior-will want see this. We need more movies like this!!!

I have discovered in this movie that Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep belong together in every movie! They were wonderful and witty! The acting in this movie is superb! The food looks delicious! Thankfully we ate before we went. I didn't give it 5 stars for its ending. It's based on a true story so I guess honesty was the best policy. The whole audience was laughing out loud throughout the movie. It was the best movie I've seen in a long time, and Meryl does a wonderful Julia.

Never expected to like this as well as I did. The review I read in EW was bland about the Amy Adams side of it..yet I enjoyed the whole thing. Highly recommend it to 40's plus viewers.

I did something I have never done before after this movie. I came home and sent an email to all of my friends telling them they have to see this movie! I enjoyed everything about it. Everything was of interest to me, the period costumes, the modern day shots of NYC, the cooking tips and the lovely story and humor. I appreciated the use of curse words more realistically than in most movies, just rarely when angered or surprised, not every other word! And I loved the honesty of Julie and her life as she turned 30. I related to the whole movie and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. So as I said to all my friends via email- YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!
