Awesome movie ! haven't read the books, but my "obscessed daughter "has. She lives, and breathes these books, and has read all 4 books 32 times, lol. She had a "countdown" on our calander everyday regarding this movie release. After seeing this movie last night, I now wear an "Edward tee-shirt"!!! OMG I'm 46 years old, and this movie is so about Passion, Love, AND dedication :) We are going to see it AGAIN tomorrow. Twilight Roxs!!!!!!

I'm a big Kristen Stewart fan, so I'm glad I saw it for her. However, Twilight is nothing more than a cheesy soap opera, including the bad acting. There were people in the theater laughing because of the overly dramatic facial expressions. I'm sorry, but this movie took two hours that I will never get back. At least my daughters liked it, so that made it worth it.

First of all i like the movie a lot. I didn't have any expectations of how it would compare to the book. I figured if i went in open minded and watched it as a movie i would enjoy it more, and i did. Its different than the book in many ways but that's life and that is Hollywood. I wish it was closer to the book and that it incorporated the meadow scene because that is important to the series. However i think that they did a good job at capturing certain things. Sometimes i felt it moved to fast and it could have been slowed a bit so you could see Bella's & Edwards relationship but i stilled enjoyed very much. My mom and grandma went they love it. Just watch the movie open minded.

This movie was definitely aimed to please the tween scene. As an avid book fan, I was expecting the movie to bring it to life. There were too much cheesy eighties guitar music-paired with slow-motion wind shots and overly dramatic glaring eye squints for me to take it seriously. My theater laughed hysterically at those first "dramatic" moments and eventually it just got annoying. Hardwicke should have toned it down a bit, kept it subtle, and the writer should have stayed closer to the plot for book fans and overall story quality. SOME good moments and shots. LOVED the actress' performance who played Jessica. It definitely improved towards the end. Despite a lot of talk, this movie is most certainly NOT comparable to the Harry Potter movies!

My friends and I went to the midnight release, with hope in our hearts - it was dashed, cruelly. While the script remained quite close to the books, the acting was complete off-kilter. Rather than enjoying the sensation of falling in love, Bella looks close to tears for most of the movie. And rather than adoration sprinkled with moments of anguish, Edward appears angry, and confused with furrowed brow. Jacob was well-depicted, though not in the movie nearly enough - same with Charlie. Esme and Alice are both good, Rose is also. Carlisle and Jasper's hairstyles are so distracting, you almost miss the complete lack of acting. And Emmett comes off more as a doofus than anything. We had such high hopes, and were bitterly disappointed.

Unlike most people I went in the theater knowing that it would be different from the book. I have read reviews saying that it's only a good movie if you've read the books. I took three people with me that had never read the books and they loved it as much as I did. It was a great movie! There was only one thing that bothered me: Billy was suppose to sell his truck because he could no longer drive but the movie has two scenes that show him driving with Jacob in the passenger seat. Other than that one part it was very close to the book and an awesome movie.

As stated in the title of my review, I no longer read for leisure, so I am the reverse of so many of the other fans that have reviewed the movie. My sisters and I went without having read the books, and now we all plan to purchase the entire series! I LOVED LOVED LOVED the movie and can not wait for the entire series to come out in the theatre. I will probably go to see it again in another week or two. . .just to let it die down so I can get better seats.

I went into this movie as a date of a fangirl of the series and knew nothing about the story only read about 10 pages of the book. I went to this film not once but three times this weekend and i'd see it again if i could its very well played out and you feel a connection between the two lovers, hence all the rumor. I've even started reading the books to catch up on what i've seen. And so far i can tell they did not butcher the story unlike Eragon which i loved the story so much to see it destroyed on screen, Go see it and make your own opinion

Ok, overall, I think I enjoyed the movie and I don’t know if I’m just saying that because of the $12+ ticket price, the waiting in line for 3 hours by my self, or if I really did like it.
Anyway, what I didn’t like was
1-the sparkle.
2-how everything felt rushed.
3-I have really grown to love the Cullens but didn’t get enough of them in the movie. Especially Jasper.
4-The makeup…
These people are stunning in real life but they looked terrible on screen!
5-Rob’s acting. He seemed so constipated and I swear I heard some pikey slip out.

I am a 25 year old die hard Twilight fan. I own multiple copies of the books, and every peice of merchandise that has been released. I was very apprehensive with how the movie would turn out, and thankfully I was not dissapointed. Of course there were a few things that any avid Twilight fan would have "done better" or "elaborated on", there were a few characters that could have been depicted better, but with the budget the crew had to work with, and the difficulties of making a box office hit movie based from the best worlds most popular book, they did a phenominal job. I can't say see the movie and don't read the book(the book is still better)

All in all the movie was very good. It stayed true to the book if you've read it. Some minor points were left out or missed altogether. The movie definitely picks up in the second half.

Okay I went to the movie with an open mind I have read all four books several times over more than 5 times within a month. I was very disappointed and frankly appalled that the author would allow someone to chop up her work that was beautifully written. I am sure the movie appealed to most teenanger and adults but I was not impressed. I was not impressed with the acting and the screenwriters adaptation of the book. Very disappointed. The soundtrack was unbelivealbe which had me thinking they were right on track with the movie but abviously the people who put the soundtrack together was more intune with the book then the screenwriter herself. I doubt she actually read twilight and fully appreciated what Meyers brought to life.

the movie was worth watching.
though they did skip some of the scenes in the book they captured everything well in there own way.
i thought the connection between Robert and Kristen was how i pictured Edward and bella,
there acting was GREAT. Kristen did great as bella,and Robert lived up to MY perfect edward.

If you didn't read the book, then this movie would have been pretty great. However, if you read the book, like me, and went to see it then prepare to be greatly disappointed. There were so many little thing they could have changed to make the movie more like the book. It was drastically different than the book at quite a few parts. I was upset to see the outcome but Robert Pattinson is gorgeous regardless so I may see it again. Still, not great. Try harder on the next movie please!

After waiting with anticipation, I was dissappointed. The point of Meyers books was to give the mythical world of vampires a fresh view. She did so by breaking old myth with new myth and introducing new out-of-the-norm vampire behavior. With a wealth of material to work with, the inadequate screenwriter and director wasted an hour on drooling-over-you shots instead of hitting us with the sexual tension, jealously, and danger Meyers interwove between her characters. This movie could have been spectacular. With new and interesting material to chose from they blew it. I left feeling disconnected from the characters, and like half the real story was missing

The character development was lacking. It didnt have the same intensity the book had. It was a complete disappointment. The movie felt rushed. Key scenes from the book were left out. Little details were looked over.... Didn't live up to the hype. Could have been done A LOT better. I hope that the next one is better. GET A NEW DIRECTOR!

After I read Twilight, I thought the movie could never be as good as what played in my head while I read. After seeing the movie, I see I was right. Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie (and I'll own the DVD when it comes out), but I would have liked it to be a little longer and include more of the details of the story. This movie is the cliff's notes version of the book and leaves out SO many building blocks to the story. And I know you can't possibly have a movie that covers everything, but you can't tell me those fans wouldn't have loved to sit in the theater another half-hour or hour longer. I could've sat there all night! Overall, a great experience!

this movie was horrible. no one could act. they weren't even good looking. bella and edward did not have any chemistry at all. everything they said was corny or stupid. edward looked like he was having a seizure when he saw bella for the first time. i do not recommend that anyone wastes money to see this movie. it was the worst movie i ever saw. it makes a mockery of the books. i am most definately on team edward, but the one good thing about the movie was that the guy who plays jacob is cute without the long hair. i dont see how stephanie meyer could let them ruin the movie like this.

I felt if you hadn't read the book then you would not have a clue of what was going on. I love this book series and I felt walking away from the movie that I had a better sense of the char's then the director did. I love Bella and Edwards romance and how long it took to get there in the book, the movie just skips right there. I hated the classroom scene, I felt like it a was a SNL script being acted out for a laugh.
I would give the second movie a chance if there is one, in hopes that they do a better job.

This was an AMAZING movie. Yes, I admit it wasn't as good as the book, leaving out all the fascinating details, but wow...! I watched it on premiere night with eight other friends, and boy, we were screaming through the movie the whole entire time! My friend, who refused to read Twilight just a few weeks back, is in love with Edward Cullen and bought the books already. Some of my friends got confused through the movie because it didn't give as detailed information like the book.
Rosalie was not the beautiful girl I expected. They made a horrible choice choosing her to play Rosalie, but I gotta say, she is a great actor.
Well, we just can't WAIT 'till New Moon! ROCK ON, TWILIGHT FANS!

I could barely move because my body was so tense from the excitement, making it difficult to even breathe at times.
It was worth it.
I believe that they did very well given the time constraints to stay with the book, though it wasn't accurate.
Rob Pattinson's and Kristen Stewart's portrayal of their characters gave them a new dimension that I hadn't considered while reading.
The supporting characters added to the overall effect and brought an insane amount of humor to what I thought would be a serious film.
Many kudos to the film, and I am preparing myself now for the sequel New Moon.
