No character development. A borderline INSULTING experience for a movie fan with a brain .

The story was quick and never boring.
Great Casting. Visually ver exciting.

I would think about seeing the 2nd one however I would go knowing it was going to blow my mind.

Didn't Read the Book

I didn't read the book and I enjoyed the movie. The makeup was a bit heavy on the vampires at times, like they'd been dipped in flour, otherwise, great story, good acting, fantastic build up of passion between the two main characters. Really well done.

I watched this opening nite. Waited in line for over an hour. It was not like the book, really, there was a bunch of parts changed to make the movie shorter obviously. But those changes did not take away from this movie. My fiance even liked it. (he wanted to originally watch 007). He and I liked it so much, we watched it again the next nite. OMG!! AWESOME! we are 23 and 21. loved it!! cant wait til the next comes out . well balanced movie for all ages and men and women. for being new actors, they were well picked for their roles..and gorgeous. lol

Read all four books, was anxious to see the movie. Was very surprised that the theatre crowd was not comprised of teenage girls, it obviously has a much broader appeal. I thought the casting was pretty good...except for Rosalie, she didn't seem right. And the Charlie character looked way too young I thought. They should definately gear the next movie toward a more adult audience, it felt a bit teenager/silly at points.

If you are over 23 you will most likely have trouble staying awake. However, if you are between 10 and 22 you might actually enjoy this incredibly boring film.

The plot is so far-fetched and unbelievable it's hard to imagine. I know, I know; there could be vampires among us and there could be this and there could be that. Even for a "monster movie" this isn't plausible.

This was not nearly as bad as Synechdoche, NY (man, is that a bad flick) but just wait for the DVD. Which shouldn't take long. As usual, the books are much better.

Great for Fans

This movie was great for fans of the series. It actually improved on the book. The book got bogged down with a series of '20-questions' to unveil information between Edward and Bella, but the movie was able to convey the same info much better. The casting was as great as I could expect and Edward was right on.

Bad Acting Not Enough Story Line

I thought the acting was very bad and seemed forced or fake. It also lacked enough story line to explain the love/attraction between Edward and Bella, without it you are confused as to why they wanted to be together. Would like to have learned more about the Cullen family and seen a more appealing, sexy side of Edward. His role was more of an inexperienced, scattered, awkward teenage boy, than a desirable Vampire. Good parts were the base ball game and when James entered the picture; his acting was much better and believable. Would only recommend the movie to a person who had read the book. They will still be disappointed by the acting, but they will understand what is going on. A first timer will walk away confused.

Yes! Finally TWILIGHT is in theaters. While I am satisfied with the movie. I will say that I am slightly disappointed at how they transformed the book into the screenplay. I feel that it was very rushed. We missed a lot of the Bella and Edward details. ("You dazzle me.", Bella's lullaby, etc.) Things that really made their chemistry smolder in the book. (the meadow scene is key in the book but an afterthought in the movie) But I am not going to be a "nay-sayer" for this movie. It was very entertaining and the casting was spot on.

I really loved the movie. I did feel it was a little rushed and that it did not capture all the wonderful details needed to completely understand the future sequels , which I'am thrilled to hear they are making. I felt the actors fit their roles superbly . I have seen it 3 times already and am planning on seeing it again.

Ok, this movie was great. Akward, and alot different from the book, but still good. Bella is the same as in the movie, just as clumsy. lol! Edward is his sweet, hot self. The rest of the family is the same, even Rosalie, the most beautiful girl in the world. You will love it.

In seeing behind the scenes/trailers of the movie I knew it would be a little hokey, so I was not disappointed. It was not bad -groaning/eye rolling cheesy though. It stayed pretty true to the book. The only thing that really started bothering me was the extreme close ups in EVERY scene!

I ABSOLUTELY would recommend it to a friend! I have already seen it twice and plan on seeing it as many times as possible before it leaves the theatres! I will say it did help to have read the books before hand, but either way it was a great performance from these actors. I think they portrayed the characters from Stephenie Meyers series to the T. Awesome! I wouldn't change anything about it!

I loved the books, and I loved the Cullens. I didn't like Carlisle at first, feeling he was too young, but when I saw the movie, he fell right into the role.
I felt that the acting by Kristen Stewart left alot to be desired. She was stiff and her phrasing was all off.

Not as good as the book but they never are. I definitely wanted to see the blood typing scene and was sad to see that they cut it. But all in all it was a very good movie. I am absolutely going to see it again and I can't wait until new moon comes out.

Unfortunately for me, the movie only expressed 1/2 the content that Stephanie Meyer brought to life in the pages of the book. A lot was not only left to assume the viewers knew what was going on in both Bellas & Edwards heads but seemed to be left on the cutting room floor as well. Some of the best parts of the book were completely left out of the movie which led to my disappointment. I just hope New Moon stays more true to the book than the script writer.

I read all whole series, several times! I loved the books!

I loved the movie! I wish they would have spent more time on Edward getting to know Bella in school, like in the book. It would have intensified the romance even more! But, there is only so much time for the movie! The actors were fantastic! Especially Edward, Bella and James! All of their emotions were very intense, just as they should have been. I think they could have done a better job with Jasper. He came across looking a bit silly! He was supposed to be so intellegent and inquisitive. Can't wait to see New Moon!

Loved it, but....

I'm an avid reader & understand that no film will ever make me feel the way a novel can. That said, the movie was beautifully shot, the actors were absolutely lovely to look at, but I agree with another reviewer who said that although the movie was two hours long it lacked many of the details necessary to really understand "Twilight". In other words, if I HADN'T read the novel, I'm not sure that the movie would have shown me enough to understand the magnitude of Bella & Edward's love for each other, or Bella's relationship with Charlie, etc. Despite that - like I said, the actors were beautiful & the scenery was spectacular, & I was still riding high from the novel - so I was able to put all else aside & enjoy the film - go see it!

I LOVED IT!!! I was very worried that the movie would never live up to the expectations of the Twilight readers. All of my fellow Twilighter friends were thrilled with the outcome. Never as good as the book!

The movie was good but not great. The main characters were good but not great. The passion between them was weak and labored - not at all like the book. I was not impressed with Kristen Stewart. Robert Pattison was good but not yet great. The theater was filled with giddy high school girls who distracted from the movie by chatting and giggling at the forced scenes of romance. This is not the movie's fault but had the passion been more real - their reactions might have been different. Who knows? I'll let my wife and daughters go to the next in the series. I give it a C+. Our family liked Ashley Greene (Alice) as the best actress. We give her an A!

the movie itself was different in my opinion... it seemed kind of choppy at some parts. But dont let that get in your way if your thinking about seeing it!! It has so many amazing scenes in the movie that make you want to melt in your seat. Robert Pattinson did A GREAT job acting as Edward. Plus, it had so many parts in the movie that just made you laugh. I WAS AMAZING!
i'm so glad they are making the sequels!!!

I was expecting the low budget and cheesy special effects so that wasn't terrible. In fact, I think that for their budged they did well. Kristen Stewart was pretty good in her role. That's about it for true to the book. I was very disapointed at Robert Pattinson's lack of facial expressions. I think that the ridiculous make up on all the vampires was too much and took the movie in a different direction. The movie flows well but they rushed a couple of the most crucial moments in the book. So, once I got past that, I thought the movie was pretty good.

Very Good Movie

I went to this movie with my 13 yo and 17 yo daughters and we were all very impressed. We had all three read the series and was looking forward to the movie. Granted, the movie missed alot of the important scenes and information from the book; however, the movie captured the main idea and the uniqueness of the characters. I would definitely watch this movie again and can't wait until it comes out on DVD.

Loved this because of its moodiness, great NW views around Portland area, and the risky young actors. I didn't read the book and was really into it; it took me to another world and was a great escape. My daughter read the book and so liked the book better but she too was captivated by its magic. Bella and Edward are just really wonderful talents and there was a lot of cool stuff to look at in the movie. Can't wait for Twilight 2, 3 and 4 to come out!

If you've read the book, definitely go see the movie. It's worth it!! The actors are great and the movie moves along nicely. But, as with all books made into movies, be prepared to know more about everything before the movie even starts. If you've seen the movie, go out and read the book, it will fill in alot of gaps and make the story whole for you. ENJOY!
