This movie has to be one of the best movies that has come out since the harry potter movies. It has stuff for everyone including romance and some really good fight scence. It has some laughs, some awwws, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. For me it was the most AMAZING MOVIE THAT I'VE SEEN IN A WHILE. Granted i don't like spending abscene amounts of money at movie theaters the money i spent on twilight was well worth it!

Read the book first. The book is 10x better than the movie. The movie was good though, actually great. It was a little cheesy at first, but cute. I felt like they skipped from one scene to the next very quickly and forgot to use very important details. I do recommend going to see this movie though. I look forward to seeing it again, eventually buying it, and seeing the next movie.

I love Twilight and I think that Stephenie Meyer did a wonderful job creating a world that so many fans believed in. With that in mind I am disappointed with the directing and screen writing.The character development was sincerely lacking and I was frustrated with feeling rushed through scenes that were choppy at best. I really wish they had spent more time on pulling the audience in and immersing them into the world of Twilight. The movie was CAMPY. There are other books that have just as much if not more information and characters and they came alive on screen due to the fact of staying true to the story. At this point if the sequels come out and the director & screen writer are the same I probably won't go.

I LOVE the books! This movie was all over the map in terms of plot. They didn't develop the characters enough and "Bella" looked bored on screen. She's supposed to be madly in love with Edward and she didn't even look interested! They left out alot of key information about vampire history, specifically where Carlisle came from. That's information you'll need for the rest of the series. Having said that, I liked alot of the action and panoramic shots, "Edward", "Alice" and "Jacob" did a great job. I wanted to see some things that were in the book, but not in the movie. I would reccomend it to other fans, you may have to see it more than once to segregate the book from the movie.

THe movie was amazing! But if u didnt read the book then u will feel lost and confused at times and might not enjoy it. The only thing i didnt like was that i felt like it was rushed and they didnt go more into the relationship between edward and Bella. Overall i dont think that u could of gotten any closer to the book even though they did change things around

I completely agree with the previous viewer in that you must read the book prior to watching the movie. There are many parts and aspects of the movie, especially the characters personalities, that would not make sense without prior knowledge. Many parts may also seem way to corny and ridiculous without having had read the book. There are so many parts of this 1st book where the reader is getting into the characters feelings, thoughts and emotions. This leads to some "quiet" moments between Bella and Edward. I am so looking forward to a sequel...to all the books!

I would recommend that you read the book first. The movie did not allow for adequate character development. The actors were great for a movie that held so many expectations. Fans who read the book were able to visualize and feel the intense love between Bella & Edward. The movie quickly moved from scene to scene.

I know a movie is never as good as a book. But I really felt that this movie had great potential like the ring series or harry potter movies. The movie bounced around alot. Some parts were good others so very corny. I think it needed many of the left out parts to make the story come to life better. Some of the actors lacked the crisma of their characters they played. I loved the books that is a must read. I was hoping the movie would be as good. My 18 year old daughter, her friends and I were disappointed. great for 12 & under.

I went with 9 other people & all of us who read & LOVED the books were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. None of the characters were developed at all, you couldn't understand reasons behind actions, it moved too fast, like they just wanted to get the best lines in. Major scenes were ommited & changed. Things were added that weren't necessary. Movie should have been over two hours, not under two. Special effects were bad like a sci-fi tv movie. Humor is supposed to be dark, yet funny, this was campy & made characters one dimensional versions for visual comic relief (Jasper). I expected it to be different from the book, but not this. Oh well at least I can still read the books over & over again, but its sad it missed the full potential.

The movie does not follow the book exactly, but it covers the most important story lines well and has some new scenes not in the book. The charactors were protrayed really well. Also, it was alot funnier than I thought it would be so it made it really fun! I thought it was cool the way it was shot and the supporting cast was great! The movie lived up to my expectations!!!

I think people should go see this movie, however I would suggest that if you have not read the book to do so, because the movie moves so quickly through the book that it will make much more sense after you read the book. Plus it's hard to take 400-500 page book and turn it into a 130 page script, but I think they executed it very well. Go see the movie and read the book :D

I have avoided the book series as I generally don't like first person narratives. I attended the midnight premiere last night with my husband and sister (my sister is the Twilight series nut).
I thoroughly enjoyed this film and contrary to what other reviews have indicated it is NOT necessary to have read the book to enjoy this movie. While I know there are things missing, it in no way hinders the experience of the movie. I was left with NO questions or gaping holes.
Whether you've read the book - you must see this movie! The artistic filmography is absolutely stunning and breath taking!

I have not read the book but saw the move last night and it was great. From past experiences, I know that a movie leaves out small details that are important so I bought the book today. The movie had many emotions from humor, suspense and passion.

I thought they did a really good job bringing the book 2 life on the big screen. The only thing I guess I personally didn't get it, is the choice of the actor 2 play Edward. Don't get me wrong, Robert Pattinson is a very good actor & handsome, but I would've have chosen Cam Gigandet (the one they chose 2 play James) 2 play Edward. He seemed 2 fit the description of Edward from the book better, but again, that is simply my opinion. I thought ALL the actors did a really amazing job & the cinematography was stunning.

This movie definitely lived up to the hype. It stayed true to the book, including keeping some lines verbatim that fans will know and love. It also included new scenes that added to the understanding of the story in a movie format. All of the Cullens were amazing, as well as Bella's schoolmates. When Carlisle first appeared on screen, an audible gasp of pleasure rippled through the theater. Watch for the Stephenie Meyer cameo! My only complaint is that the ending battle sequence was not long enough, but of course that stays true to the quick fight of the book.

Twilight was far from disappointing
I highly recommend reading the book before you see it, because there are alot of things you might not understand if you haven't read it.
I was happy with the fact there were many lines from the book directly quoted in the movie, but disappointed because of the many important scenes that weren't in the movie.
Over-all the acting was great, the production was superb, a must see.

i thought the movie was great.
i think it will be better for the twilight readers rather than someone who randomly goes out to see it although i would recommend seeing the movie AND reading the book.
the only thing i didn't like about it was the acting in some parts just wasn't the greatest. i feel that edward could have been more intense.
Edward and bella were totally lacking chemistry in the movie which is pretty much the most important part!
those faults did not however stop me from loving the movie!

After seeing the 12:01 am showing and months of anticipation; I was not dissapointed with Robert Pattinson. He was my vision of Edward brought to life. He encapsulated the intensity and brooding mystery that is Edward Cullen. He alone is worth the watch! Overall, the movie was a little choppy and there were things that were amusing but only if you read the book. It is worth seeing if you are a fan. I was a little dissapointed in the lack of character development. That development is very key to Stephenie Meyer's writing. I think that it leaves you with the want for the story to continue and for the story to get even better.

I pride myself on reading the book prior to watching any new movie that is released. I am constantly disappointed in the changes and deletions made in the screen writing process from book to movie. Twilight is the FIRST movie I have seen that derived from a book where there was a true intent to stick to the dialog and storyline. The characters were well developed, you had an opportunity to build interest in all of them, and no major scenes from the book were deleted. On top of that...IT WAS ENTERTAINING and a good love story.

Twilight fans out there it is hard pressed to not at the very least love this movie! It was the book almost to a "T". For the budgeting costs and the independet filming it was amazing! I loved it! True readers and fans will connect to the charcters as you know what they are thinking as they are acting it! It was wonderful. I can't dscribe how happy I was with it. I think when it makes it big the sequels to follow will only be all the better. Kristen Stewart was amazing as Bella! She acted every akward and loving moment beautifully. Robert Pattinson had the dark and tortured intensity of his character Edward Cullen down. I think it was a great film! Go see it!

Definitely a must see movie, however if you haven't yet read the books, make sure you do that first. The movie doesn't entirely follow the plot of the book, but there are a lot of memorable scenes!! Didn't so much like the ending though (what did you think?) but overall a really great movie :] I saw this one at midnight too. Worth the time and money. The actors all live up to their characters (though we all know that the real Edward will never be found, he did a very good job at portraying his part). I'll be seeing it again as soon as I can and buying it the day it comes out!!!

I took my 14yo daughter who is now reading the 3rd book, my 17yo son and sister who have not read the books yet and knew nothing of the story line to the 12:01am premier show on the 21st. We stood in line for 3 1/2 hours so we could get a good seat ~ which we did~ and were in awe through the entire movie! My daughter and I could not believe how much like the book this movie was and I am already planning on going again this weekend, I was amazed to see all of the characters I have grown to LOVE come to life. We had goose bumps through the entire movie. GREAT MOVIE!

I watched twilight midnight this morning and i thought the movie was freakin awsome. They skipped around and missed things but thats a movie for you.Alice was a beast she is freakin sexy and what she does at the end of the fight was awsome.
