Avoided the Book

I have avoided the book series as I generally don't like first person narratives. I attended the midnight premiere last night with my husband and sister (my sister is the Twilight series nut).
I thoroughly enjoyed this film and contrary to what other reviews have indicated it is NOT necessary to have read the book to enjoy this movie. While I know there are things missing, it in no way hinders the experience of the movie. I was left with NO questions or gaping holes.
Whether you've read the book - you must see this movie! The artistic filmography is absolutely stunning and breath taking!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
