I went with 9 other people & all of us who read & LOVED the books were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. None of the characters were developed at all, you couldn't understand reasons behind actions, it moved too fast, like they just wanted to get the best lines in. Major scenes were ommited & changed. Things were added that weren't necessary. Movie should have been over two hours, not under two. Special effects were bad like a sci-fi tv movie. Humor is supposed to be dark, yet funny, this was campy & made characters one dimensional versions for visual comic relief (Jasper). I expected it to be different from the book, but not this. Oh well at least I can still read the books over & over again, but its sad it missed the full potential.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
