I completely agree with the previous viewer in that you must read the book prior to watching the movie. There are many parts and aspects of the movie, especially the characters personalities, that would not make sense without prior knowledge. Many parts may also seem way to corny and ridiculous without having had read the book. There are so many parts of this 1st book where the reader is getting into the characters feelings, thoughts and emotions. This leads to some "quiet" moments between Bella and Edward. I am so looking forward to a sequel...to all the books!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
