This movie was very good. Not as good as the book but that was to be expected. The actors were easy to love and the movie went by quickly. I would suggest that if people liked the book, they should watch this movie.

I am also a 39 year old mother of 2, and my pre-teen has read all four books and was dying to see the movie. She is now saving her ticket stub as one of the highlights of her life (boy has she got a lot to learn!). The movie was a great, passionate movie, that was enjoyed by adults (even my doubtful husband who tagged along) and really exciting for all the pre-teens and teens. The actors all did a fantastic job (yes Edward was admittedly HOT) and movie kept you interested scene after scene. It was nice to see a teen flick that had some modesty. We all left feeling very passionate about the characters Bella and Edward, and will remember this movie for a long time! I will definitely go and read the series now....

I absolutely loved this movie. I was not disappointed in the least. I went in knowing that it was not going to be like the book. I do agree that if you have not read Twilight the movie will confuse you. Really there is just no way to fit all 500 pages into a 2 HR movie. I think they chose the most important parts to put in. But, because of that there are parts that just do not make sense if you have never read the book. If you did see it without reading the book first. You must go home and do so!! It will answer a lot of questions.

I'm a huge huge fan of the Twilight series and went into the movie a little nervous but the movie was completely satisfying! For non-fans of the book I can see where it might get a little boring and corny, but if you're a fan I definately reccomend seeing it! Rob Pattinson & Kristen Stewart were amazing as Edward & Bella, they nailed the characters and their chemistry was unbelievable. Fans will be happy to know that some of their favourite book quotes are in the movie. Go in with an open mind, rememeber that the film is an ADAPTATION of the novel, so it won't be exactly the same. New things have been added and it makes for a better film. Love it!

If you are a fan of the book I think you will be pretty satisfied. I think it was probably the closest adaptation of a book to a movie I've ever seen. It was very true to the book with only tiny details changed that made sense in order for the film to move along and tell the story in 2 hours. At the same time because I love the book so much there were a few things that I didn't like and would have liked to see in the movie. I found the music in the film to be pretty annoying except for a couple pieces. I think all of the actors really pulled it off as far as really understanding their characters. It's not the best movie ever but I did leave satisfied and I went back and saw it a second time.

Overall, the movie was great. However, the beginning had some pretty bad acting. Don't worry. The acting got better as it got closer to the climax. :] I felt they did a good job picking which parts to be in the movie. However, read the book anyways. It's quite amazing.

I didn't know what to expect but the previews seemed to give a hint of excitement. In reality it felt like I was watching a 2 hour conversation. I didn’t read the books so I can't call my self a twilight fan, but everyone else in the theater were hardcore fans so I’ll tell you what they thought of it.
The three girls next me, sporting Team Edward and bite me t-shirts, described the film as "uh interesting". A group of teenagers came out of the theater saying how the book was ten times better than the movie. One guy was telling people waiting in line to get in, "not to waste their money"!
Of course there were some people that found it entertaining and that will probably see it again, but the majority of the audience wasn't satisfied.

I am a 41 mother of 2 that read the books twice - because I could not get enough. I was very excited for the movie - but have to say I am disappointed. There was not enough dialogue or character building - so the movie was no where near as compelling as it should have been. They made some changes that didn't all work - and I was left wanting more. I am hoping the sequel - if made - is better

I don't think the characters were developed enough.The relationship between Edward and Bella wasn't conveyed accurately. Their love was much stronger than the movie indicated.
I think Charlie, Carslile and Rob stole the show! I lost my breath when Carlisle first appeared. Peter Facinelli was PERFECT for the part.
The best part of the movie to me was Bella and Edward dancing at prom.
My greatest disappoinment was that the last line from Bella wasn't "I'm betting on Alice!" Other than that, great movie. Read the book before going to see though. You will better understand it if you do!

OK,I'm going to keep it real for all of my teenager friends out there who didn't hate the movie but thought it was bad!!! You see I thought they cut out way too much in the movie and it was more like a comedy than a love story!!! The book of course is way better than the movie!!!!! Let me assure you that if you didn't read the books don't watch the movie because the book is NOTHING like the movie and it is SOOOO much better!!!!!! Besides that, have fun watching, you will start laughing at parts that were probably supposed to be serious!!!

The movie did live up to the book.... And those who read the book or not read the book will still enjoy it. Now personally don't think they casted the right Edward for this movie but they could have done better. The story does go faster in the movie just to be sure they get all the good parts in. I hope they do better with the next one after this. Bella was awesome ... she really nailed the character along with Charlie, Carlise, and Alice was HOTT!!!!!!! Overall its a must see ..... for those who have read the book and a must see for those who haven't read the book.

Read the book first, but don't expect your favorite part to be in the movie. Characters are much more diverse in the movie than most will imagine while reading the book. The soundtrack is totally HOT! The ending is awesome if you have read the series.

I'm a 42 year old father who took his 12 year old daughter to see this film. I'm obviously not the target audience, nor have I read the books, but I think a film should be able to stand on its own. My daughter enjoyed it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over the age of 16. There were just too many lingering camera shots of teenage angst and attempts to portray tortured souls (which inevitably ended up looking like nausea). It's the first time I've seen a vampire movie that I felt neither afraid of nor sympathetic towards the vampires.

The movie was good, but disappointing for me and the 3 teenage girls I brought. The beauty is in the details and the simple - not flashy moments.

If you read the book, then you need to understand that putting a 500+ page book into a 2-hour movie won't have all the details. But the movie came as close as it will ever get to the message from the book and it did it in such a heartwarming way. All the characters fit perfectly and the more the movie went on, you fell in love with the cast. If you love young romance, action, and adventure - you will love this movie. Just don't sit there for 2 hours naming things that are different from the book and movie. You won't enjoy it. I'm seeing it again because I loved it so much!

I originally picked up this book series because my teen daughter was reading them and really enjoyed them. Fell in love with the characters as I read each book and was really apprehensive that the movie would disappoint if not even spoil my view. I cannot believe how terrific the movie was and how true to the book it stayed which is so rare! Every single actor hit their characters right on the mark, especially Robert Pattinson as Edward! We're already talking about going to see it again and can't wait to see the next movie of the series!!!!

First, I must say the books are wonderful and my expectations were very high. The actors picked to portray the characters in appearnace and most performances were dead on...but the lack of money in the budge was evident. If you hadn't read the books you would be lost for the very important details of the workings of the Cullen coven was missing...and critical. I hope that if a sequel is in the future that the more money they have at their finger tips will allow for a better script and director. Did the director read the books? The author and actors were great...but the movie left tons to be desired. I blame the director for the lack luster review of this movie. It absolutely KILLS me to give this poor of a review!!!

I went with my 14 year-old daughter and her friend last night. The theatre was packed, as expected, but we got a spot at the front of the line waiting in the corridor so we got great seats. The movie was really close to the book and was excellent, though it did move a bit quickly right into Edward's 'grip' on Bella. Very good with a lot of emotion-though not too much that it was uncomfortable at all. Moms and kids were all excited when they kissed and everyone screamed when Edward made his first appearance on screen. Can't wait for the next movie when we can see more of Jacob's gorgeous smile! I will definitely see this again soon.

ok, first, i never read the book.. that said, there was so much hype around this movie, there were such high expectations, that i figured i wouldnt like it.. i am happy to say i was wrong.
Yes, the vampires are HOT. yes, the love story between the undead & the human was intense, but all that aside, i thought the story was original & well written & a good movie..
i would recommend this movie to anyone that feels that they need to escape the horrible movies based in reality.

Having read Twilight, I think they did a good job with the movie. I agree as well that the movie did move a little too fast from scene to scene compared to the book, but trying to put a 500 page book into a 2 hour slot is tough. While watching in the theater, Edward was able to get the girls all giggly which I thought was funny. I think the two main actors did a great job as Bella and Edward. I would have liked to seen a little more interaction with the Cullen family like there was in the book, but who knows.... there may be more movies :)

Okay, the movie overall, was great. Although I wasn't thrilled with the choice for Edward initially, once seeing the movie, he did a great job. I would highly recommend this movie to all twilight fans as well as those who haven't read twilight yet. The movie, although 2 hours long, went quickly and could have been longer. I was sad to see how fast they rushed things in the movie as compared to the book. What happened to the all important friendship/relationship with Jacob? I'm sad to see that it didn't make it into the movie. Overall, go see it!

I'm also a 39 year old mom who has read the complete series along with my 14 year old daughter. I was just as fascinated by the books. I was a little disappointed in the actor they selected for Carlyle. He appeared stiff and fake. Carlyle was portrayed as a gentle, charismatic soul in the book. Regardless, the movie was great. It did move a little fast, so at first if you were not a book reader you might have thought the romance was a little too quirky. I thought Kristen played Bella perfectly!! Very excited to see the rest of the books portrayed on the big screen. Can't Wait!!

They definitely got the main points of the book but the movie is really nothing in comparison. When reading the book, you can literally feel the love between them and I don't think the movie displayed that well at all. Although the movie stayed true to the book, the book was a million times better. There were a lot of silent parts where it dragged. Stewart and Pattinson aren't very good at acting. Action scenes were lacking. There were a LOT of very corny parts. If you didn't read the book you probably won't like the movie. If I were in my teens I probably would have enjoyed it more.
