This movie is definatly not a comedy. While there were 4 or 5 parts that made me laugh, it was not interesting and couldnt hold my attention. It was funny when they were trying to be funny but it seemed like they were only trying to be funny 10% of the time. It dragged on and half through i couldnt wait for it to be over. Not worth the 10 dollars but maybe rent it on a rainy day when it comes out on DVD.
What an incredible movie. Milk was one of the most impressive and entertaining movies I've seen all year. I knew how the movie ended but i still couldn't help but cry. Sean Penn was great as Harvey Milk. I completely forgot i was watching Sean Penn. There were also great performances by James Franco, Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch, and the rest of the supporting cast. It was a great movie overall! Definatly a must see!
This bittersweet tale of the struggle of a young boy in the slums of India is inspiring. Slumdog Millionaire is epic, breathtaking, and alluring. Never before have I seen a movie that more inclusively illustrates the hardships and triumphs of a person’s life. It is intense and heartbreaking but also overwhelmingly adorable. Although its two hours long, Slumdog never gets boring. There’s always a story behind how he knows the answer to every question. You stress over the question, will he ever find his one true love again? You are pulled in by the cinematography, vibrant colors, and powerful music. So go see Slumdog Millionaire and make sure you stay for the end credits, if you do I guarantee you will leave the theater smiling.
I confess I was very excited to see Confessions of a Shopaholic, but after sitting in the movie theater watching this long, boring, uninspired film I can't remember what I was excited about. The first half of the film was alright and I wasn't dreading watching it but for the other half I was extremely bored and it felt like it dragged on forever. The characters started to annoy me and the story seemed like it should have ended long before it actually did. It was one of those movies that didn't feel like it was made for the silver screen. I think I would have liked it much more if I had rented it and watched it at home. All in all, I wouldn't recommend seeing this movie in theaters but you should maybe rent it.
Although The Reader was slow at times the complicated plot pulls you in and won’t let go. When I heard about this movie I was very intrigued by it and I couldn't wait to see if it would live up to my expectations. It did. This film had a great interesting story and great acting by both Kate Winslet and her young on-screen lover, David Kross. I do know some people who were turned off by what they thought was an unrealistic and a too coincidental plot but if you are into good, well made, Oscar worthy films, give The Reader a chance.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is the must see movie of the year. Never before have i felt so attached to a character. You follow Benjamin throughout his life and by the end of the movie you feel like you know everything about him. You witness his childhood, his first love, his first loss, his experiences. You watch him grow up (or grow down im still not sure how it works). Ben Button was one of those rare fictional films that you watch and you feel like it is a true story. Yes, it is not an easy movie to watch and it is extremly long, but in the end you feel like you havn't wasted 3 hours of your life watching a boring movie, and I think that is one of the best things anyone can say about any film.
Mesmerizing, enchanting, dazzling. Although Coraline was a little creepy at times, the entire audience, including myself, was in awe. It was The Nightmare Before Christmas meets Alice in Wonderland. The Animation and Cinematography was jaw dropping. The main thing that really stood out to me was the use of color! A lot of the movie was dark but there is always something that stands out and some scenes just explode with color. Overall the movie was fantastic. It sends a great message to children with out being preachy and is great for all ages. At one point i looked around at the audience and everyone, children, adults, teenagers, they all seemed so amazed by the film. So get you 3D glasses and go and see Coraline as soon as you can!
Bedtime stories was not as typical as i expected it to be. I was originally hesistant to see this movie because of the PG rating because most kids movies are all the same. This movie was different. It was entertaining and i was never bored. I laughed out loud at least 5 times. If you have kids, if you are a kid, or if you just wanna go see a good movie i would recomend Bedtimes stories to you.
Hilarious. This was the funniest movie of the year. The only think i am critical about is the fact that the scenes were either kind of boring or laugh out loud funny, but dont let that stop you from seeing it. I think they threw in those parts so everyone could catch their breath after laughing so hard. Definatly a must see!
