Hardwicke did an awesome job bringing this wonderful story to the big screen. The cast was chosen perfectly for each character. I hope they continue to make the other 3 books into movies as well, with the same cast. I would totally recommend this to a friend and plan to see it again before it leaves the big screen. As far as Robert Pattinson goes, there are no words.... (well, maybe one... WOW!)

The movie was really good! The book was alot different from the movie... they left out some parts. but overall the movie was perfect. they did a awsome job getting the good stuff in 2 hours. Im very satisfied! But i would recommend reading the book first in order to get the about meaning of whats kinda goin on! and the actors were amazing!

I was surprised by how well this movie turned out. I thought that the cinemotagraphy was great and the cast was really good. There were some really funny scenes in the movie and I was really shocked that it worked out so well. I've read all four books and I wasn't quite sure how they were going to work this out but they did a pretty good job. The only problem for me was that they sped up the ending a bit when Alice and Jasper took Bella to the hotel to protect her and she escaped to go to the dance studio. It went by a little too quick but it was still really good. The cast was amazing and overall it was a really cool movie, so I very highly recommend it.

I read the book first, and have to say they did a very good job of following the book in this movie. Edward is a dream - even if he's a vampire. He fits this role much better than Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter. It's great to see him have the lead and play it so well. He's great with the brooding eyes and mouth!

Reading the book definitely would help understand a few things, but I don't think it would detract from a movie going experience if you didn't. It was fast paced and action packed. The very tame kissing scene may leave some Bella/Edward fans wanting more, but was adequately intense. It was also funnier than I expected. An ejoyable experience all around.

If you read the books you will love this movie! Casting was awesome - the theater exploded when the Cullins first appeared onscreen! There are several times when you would not know what was going on if you have not read the books. Can't wait for the next one!

Twilight was not only disappointing but it was also disgraceful. For those who were big fans of the books, I suggest that this movie is not for you. Half of the time none of the details were right and on top of that the actors can't act. I feel like the only person they picked correctly was James and Carlisle. The Cullen family weren't as elegant as they were made out to be in the book. In fact, Eric, Justin, and Mike were more attractive then Emmet or Jasper or Edward. If your interested in the movie and you've never read the books then go for it, but if your a twilighter then I suggest you think twice.

I thought Catherine Hardwicke did a great job with the adaptation of the Twilight book to screen. For those that criticize consider the following: 1. did you even read the book? If not the perhaps a lot of what happens (or doesn't, i.e., lack of fangs) disappoints, 2. Hardwicke was only allowed $36 million to make this movie. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc are given a considerable much larger budget. I thought Catherine did an excellent job with what she was given. I believe New Moon and Eclipse (the sequels already planned for production) will be on a much larger scale with the success of Twilight and thus those movies will be more visually stimulating for those that can't be imaginative on their own.

I am a fourteen year old girl and in my opinion, the Twilight movie was very good, better than I thought it would be. The actors were great and I think they portrayed the characters very well. The only problems I had with it was that it moved so fast and I don't think people who haven't read the books can understand everything completely. I also think the movie did not show Edward good. It didn't really show how great he is. I definitely prefer the book but overall, the movie was so great! I took a friend with me who always told me she would never like Twilight. She was in love with Edward before the movie was even half way over. I am going to be buying the DVD as soon as it comes out and repeatedly watching it. :)

Mostly for fans of the book. I knew it was going to be tough translating an intense 500 page book into a 2 hr. movie. I was right. There were good parts but the whole movie seemed a little disjointed. Having read the book I understood what the movie was trying to convey however those who haven't may feel a little lost since not everything was explained like it was in the book. The dialogue was good and there is definitely enough eye candy and action to keep most people engaged. But as I left the theater I couldn't help feeling a little disappointed and wanting more. Oh well, maybe the next installment will be better.

I enjoyed watching the movie last night. I think they did a great job staying true to the characters.....however i think they sped through alot and i think people that have not read the book will not be impressed. And while i expected them to change things i think a few key plot piont were changed for the bad. Having said that i would still watch it again and buy it when it comes out. Oh and the kissing scene SMOKING!

I am a 35 year old married mother of 2 boys, I have read all 4 books, and can honestly say that I have been obsessed. I was anxiously awaiting the movie, and have to say I was not disappointed. Yes, there are some things missing from the book, but it was blended well. I really enjoyed it! The only drawback was the SCREAMING girls in the theater! It was, at times, hard to hear, but I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see a compelling love story.

I went to this movie with low expectations so i would not be disappointed. They actually did a really good job. It is impossible to make a movie as good as the book. There were a few cheesy parts because it is hard to make Edward running fast through the woods with Bella on his back not look cheesy. I enjoyed the movie. If you have not read the book you will probably be confused and maybe a little bored at parts.
As a lover of the books, I really enjoyed the movie.

i think it could have been better but it was still good. the guy that played edward was more awkward then anything because i never really got the confidence that the real edward would be but the humans, victoria, rosalie, jacob, and carliasle did great jobs the others need work but all in all it was good. parts were different from the book so i don't realy think people have to read the book to watch the movie but they might get confused if they don't the biggest disappointment would have to be the fighting seen it just ended way to fast but the movie is still good not enough jacob though lol.

I have read all the books and was super excited about seeing this movie. However, I was horribly dissappointed! The movie absolutely does NOT do the book justice!!! It was laughable bad from start to finish and I think it highly unlikely they will be making any sequels....
Do yourself a favor- read the books. They are excellent. This movie, not so much and that's putting it kindly. Don't believe me? Go see it and you'll be kicking yourself over paying to see it...

i thought this movie pretty much sucked. i read the book the book over again like the day before seeing it and because of that i noticed EVERYTHING that they did wrong. i thought the actors sucked and bella always looked like she was constipated or scared even though she wasnt supposed to be afraid of him. I also didnt like how they meshed different parts of the book together. I would recommend this movie to a freidn only because it was really funny. Mostly because it was mocking the book and very innacurate, and because of the terrible actors. Like edward looking like he wanted to vomit when he first so bella.

For those who read and loved the book then, of course, you must see this movie! However, some things are better left to the reader's imagination and the movie just couldn't capture all that Twilight is. I felt like I was on "fast forward" because due to time constraints a lot of events had to be sped up. Also a lot of the dialougue between characters was missing that was in the book, to save time I suppose. The actors did a great job and the scenery was beautiful. There were some parts that struck me as funny although they weren't supposed to be comical. Don't forget to look for Stephenie Meyer in the movie! If you did not read the book then I'm afraid you might not "get it" but you can try!

Although the books are infinitely better, the movie has its own merits that should not be overlooked. Not only did the actors portray the characters fantastically, but the tension between Bella and Edward is definitely there! While some were disappointed with the movie, I thought it was very good. OMG! First off- this movie is beautiful. The cinematography was absolutely breath taking! I love the panning of the camera in the forest scene during the confessions of his identity to Bella. I am a Twilight mom and I appreciated the intimacy with out all of the explicity of sex. Leaving it up to one's imagination is key. I recommend this movie if you want to seduced by the charm and chiverly of Edward. Must see!

For those of you that enjoyed the book, you will be blown away by this movie. The only part I didn't like about it was at times both the plot and the characters seemed very rushed. And it took a while to get used to the fact that the camera is always zoomed in on the faces. But the characters were excellent, the scenery was stunning, and the jokes were funny. Honestly, one of my favorite parts was hearing all of the girls in the audience (about 99% female) gasp everytime Edward came on screen. But yeah, it's a great film.

I'm a 42 year old mother of two who is obsessed with the Twilight saga. I've been waiting on pins and needles for this movie, and it lived up to every expectation. I would imagine that people who have not read the books did not get any of the subtle undertones of the movie, but they weren't completely lost either. Edward was portrayed beautifully and left me yearning for more. Even James was HOT. I can't WAIT to see the next installment!!!

I saw this movie with high expectations, but I was really disappointed. True, it had some nice embellishments, but the story had been changed enough that the plot made no sense. So much had been omitted, that you had to wonder what was the problem since you had no real chance to see a friendship blossom in the first place.
I would only recommend this movie to really hardcore fans who needed to put a face to the characters. Anyone who was looking for real entertainment should keep looking. Except for plenty of eye candy, there isn't much to this movie.

As an adult woman over 40 who loves and adores the "Twilight" series of books, I was very excited to see the movie...when I first learned about Robert Pattinson being cast as Edward, I was skeptical and disappointed, but I gotta tell you, he was amazing!!! This movie captures the essence of the first book for me....and as a result has me looking forward to what is coming...more "Twilight" movies with bigger budgets and hopefully given the amount of onscreen time to tell the story...
I did think it moved pretty fast and there were aspects that I didn't much care for i.e.
Bella in panties and tank...where are the beloved torn and hole ridden sweats?
Never the less, I will see it again and again and I walked out smiling and satisfied...
