Not as good as the book!

I saw this movie with high expectations, but I was really disappointed. True, it had some nice embellishments, but the story had been changed enough that the plot made no sense. So much had been omitted, that you had to wonder what was the problem since you had no real chance to see a friendship blossom in the first place.
I would only recommend this movie to really hardcore fans who needed to put a face to the characters. Anyone who was looking for real entertainment should keep looking. Except for plenty of eye candy, there isn't much to this movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Didn't do it for me

I absolutely loved the first one, but this one wasn't as good for me. I really expected more, like a coherent storyline. The beginning was awful with a child Hellboy, and the rest was mediocre. The action and effects were worth it, but this movie in no way inspired me. I really do hope for another sequel, but if it's anything like this one, I would have to pass.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

So-So

Considering I have always been a fan of the franchise, I was not excited with this movie. I thought it was way too science fic to actually enjoy the movie. Yes, I know, this isn't the first time there has been unbelievable action (temple of doom brings to mind the guy who could pull your heart out by just reaching into the chest), but the whole alien thing has already been done too many times (can you say X-Files?).
That said, there is still enough action and humor to make the movie watchable. Personally, I would have been there to watch it anyway because the only real way to enjoy a movie like this is on a huge screen with a bag of popcorn and a room full of strangers.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

When I first saw the reviews for this movie, I knew it would be terrible. Especially the casting of Robert Downey Jr. in the title role, not that he isn't a great actor, but action hero? After the first five minutes of the movie, I was hooked. Very nicely done and entertaining throughout the entire film. I am definitely shouting this one out to all of my friends.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
