Most sequals aren't even close to being as good as the first. But Transformers Rise of the fallen completely out does the original. Most may believe that the language was a lil over the top but honestly if i was in a war between man and machines i wouldn't have the nicest things to say either. I feel that the first transformers focused more on the transformations and this one focuses more on the fight scenes which makes for a way more action packed film. If anyone has anything negative to say about Tranformers 2 dont believe them. This movie is perfect!!!
One of the best ACTION films ever in my opinion.

This had everything a summer movie was supposed to have - action and fun. This second installment in the Transformer series is back with more action and bigger explosions, while still keeping the heart and characters that made the first movie enjoyable.
This isn't a little kid's movie, nor was it ever advertised as such. It isn't the old animated series, it's an updated, hipper and more mature live-action version on it. This movie is for those who grew up playing with Transformers but are adults now; it isn't for eight-year old Billy to get introduced to them. That said, even if you didn't used to play with the toys or watch the animated TV show, you can still have a great time.

I thought it was as good as the first one which I loved. The only things that bothered me were there was too much cussing for a movie where one obviously will bring the kids since kids love Transformers. I am not sure I liked the two jive turkey robots, it was eerily like a Jar Jar Binks experience with those two, but I did like the little remote control monster truck guy and the old, grumpy, and rusty Decepticon defector. Great action sequences, though the story was a little hard to follow since it was off the original story line, but these types of movies are for the special effects, so it was really pretty great. Also loved the previews for 2012, GI Joe, and Funny People. Definitely money well spent to check this one out.

That movie was so awesome. some people say they dont like the twin robots because it is a sterotypical black person but really they were so funny they had me laughin the whole time. I mean really nobody dogs on media because she is a steriotypical black person so ya. that movie was amazing and i think anybody would enjoy it.

Great fun summer movie. Forget the critics, you go to movies to be entertained, this does an A+ job at that. Was it perfect? No but I've been to the acclaimed movies that can't touch the entertainment value Transformers 2 has.

Although there was a lot of action in the movie the story line seemed somewhat lacking. You would think being a 2hr 40min movie it would have had more substance. Don't get me wrong it did have one but it seemed as if they were rushing me through the movie from start to finish. The crude language was totally unnecessary (maybe the producers thought it would be funny) most of the audience did not judging from the vibe I got from uneasy parents. Go see Star Trek again and wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray release!

I really can't see why this movie has gotten bad reviews from professional critics. It has down time from action (hello! It's over 2 hours long. It can't ALL be action) to actually tell the story.
The movie actually pays a lot of tribute to the older cartoon, the new cartoon, and the original 80's movie without getting corny. That's a very delicate balance that extreme hard to do.
I give it a HUGE thumbs up!

"Revenge of the Fallen" was fun as a sequel. Plenty of special FX, action, etc. I liked that Sam still had a goofy, awkward way about him. Did NOT like: the unnecessary adult overtones (the dogs, the RC robot going to town on the girl's leg) or the gratuitous cursing. The first move didn't have any of that, and was the better for it.

The language is unnecessary, adds nothing to the limited dialogue, but makes it inappropriate for the assumed target audience. All the innuendo and crude jokes are funny, but again, not for kids.

I went to see this movie b/c of my husband and daughter and just fell in love with it. They did a great job of making sure you knew what was going on and the history behind it. There was a lot of action. There was some romance and some relly funny parts as well. I did not even notice that it went longer than an hour. I loved and would go back to the theater to see it a second time. And so would my family. There were four families that went to see it with us on Wednesday and all had the same review. Two thumbs up, way up!!!!!

This movie is looong. Hope you can get down because this there was too much of a lot of nothing of interest for a movie like this to be going on. Being a fan of transformers, you just don't get a lot of character time with those robots you see. Michael Bay tried but he failed. The comedy relief was tragic at best and way too much for a war. A war on planet earth between giant, mechanical shifting robots. Could not get into the storyline of this universe because I couldn't believe in all the archaic ideas of aliens and what not. The effects and fight scenes were the only thing that got this movie going. Have fun because I'm sure everyone else will like this movie.

Movie was great, just as I knew it would be. But did not expect them to go with all the bad language. With a 6-year-old and a 5-year-old who LOVE Transformers, it was difficult to answer their questions....especially as to why "The Twins" talk so ugly. I hope with the next one, they take the cursing and bad language out so kids can enjoy it too

This movie was full of great special effects, tons of action & even some comedy sprinkled throughout, it rocked! It is, however, completely for adults. The language was crude & perverse in spots & the sensuality was highly inappropriate for children. It should be solely marketed toward adults instead of children (ie all the toys).

It was an incredible movie, one of the best summer popcorn movies, but all the foul language and se xual material were COMPLETELY unnecesarry to the storyline. It's a shame I couldn't take my 8 year old nephew to go see a Transformers movie, supposedly a family movie based on toys. Still, for older teens and older, great movie.

Somewhere I read Transformers 2 didn't have a storyline. Well, that reviewer was wrong. The storyline of the sequel is quite well done. the graphics are superb, although at times it is hard to make out the difference between the autobots and the decepticons. Shia LaBeouf continues to grow as an actor and brings solid authenticity to the role.
The language is a little much for kids under 8, but the effects keep them riveted to their seats. Without the swearing it would have earned 5 stars.
All in all, one of the best movies I've seen this year for pure entertainment.

It was a good movie, with great parts. The first one had a better story line and disbursed the action scenes throughout. This one was one long action scene which tends to overwhelm the viewer and make you immune to the wow moments. If there were quieter moments, you would be even more impressed by the action scenes. The roommate character was unnecessary. The dorm scene with the mom was a nice and welcome break to all the action and information. The Smithsonian Decepticon should have either had a bigger part or not been in at all and cut the playing time of the movie. Overall, it was a good movie but I have no interest in viewing a second time, which our family usually does with big action films.

This movie was definatly one of the best movies i've seen in a while. Started out great, and ended great. Pretty much non stop action from start to finish. The fight scenes were better and longer then the first one. It was a little long but 2 1/2 hrs of action...im definatly not complaining. Lets hope theres going to be a third one soon.

Overall, Transformers 2 had a good storyline, good special f/x and good acting by all actors. It was a little long and some of the fight scenes between the autobots and the decepticons were a little too long. Michael Bay has another well produced movie on his hands and it will be one of the big blockbusters this summer.

By all means this was definately better than the first. The explanation of how the Government doesn't always know what is best was played out to a perfection. Also the explanation that you cannot negotiate with the enemy is very easy to see even for the most staunch liberal. This was done very well. It is plain to see that Michael Bey believes like most Americans that peace through strengh is the only way to go. Very good movie and it definately gets its point accross.
