Saw this wonderful movie, with my sister-in-law and a theater full of people, on 07/19 and we all LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!! Streep, Brosnan and the whole cast out preformed themselves. If anyone can walk away from this movie and not feel like dancing and signing, they need help. And isn't that what it is all about? Don't we go to the movies to be entertained? If we wanted to see ABBA preform their great songs in person then we should try to find them in concert somewhere, or buy their C.D.s Sorry my husband couldn't come with me to see this movie, but the movie theaters increase the volume so loud that it hurts his ears and many other people feel the same way. Is it really necessary for the volume to be blasting?????

Overall excellent. a 9, must see, FUN movie. May even go again! Followed the stage show well. The beginning was a bit too "gushy" for me. Streep & main characters superb, voices excellent, especially Streep. Even Brosnan was spot on. Most ensemble numbers were spectacular. Had a little problem when they made some songs solos that originally weren't.

Whoever did not give this movie good reviews obviously does not know how to have fun! It was one of the most refreshing movies I've seen in a long time. Love, secrets, singing and a beautiful backdrop, what more could you ask for? Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper are just darling, Meryl, Christine and Julie in their usual top form (wish I could sing and dance like that at our age), and Pierce, Colin and Stellan...hubba, hubba...DO NOT MISS THIS!!!

Went to see the movie the other day with a friend and I thought that it was great. Never saw the actual musical but the cast for the movie was fantastic. I really giggled when pierce brosnan sang. I didn't think that I wasted my money on the movie so whatever the critics are saying is not true.

This movie was so much fun. Julie Walters and Colin Firth stole the show. They had me laughing out loud, and Meryl Streep's rendition of "The Winner Takes It All" was riveting, reminding you why she is one of the finest actors working today. At times, I did feel that some of the movements and choreography were theater stage big, but that did not at all detract from the lovely, fun ride that was this movie. And it's hard to beat an ABBA song.

From the previews, I expected to laugh and be entertained by Mamma Mia!, but I didn't realize how much I would be touched by the relationship between Donna (Meryl Streep) and her daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried). As someone whose daughter is getting married in less than two weeks, the mother/daughter scenes really hit home and had me crying like a baby, especailly since I was watching it with my daughter sitting next to me. Oh, and can someone please tell me how Pierce Brosnan manages to get better and better looking as he ages? Not fair!

I absolutely loved this movie. It was so much fun. They had you rolling in the isles the whole time. Meryl Streep was wonderful - such a departure from her normal roles, but just as skilful as always. All supporting cast was great, although Pierce obviously can not sing, but still eye candy. Abba music delightful.

Wondered what it would be like since we saw the stage production last year, which was a WOW in itself! The movie is GREAT! It's true, Pierce can't sign, but who cares, he's still a hunk! Sophie was wonderful and the scenery was breathtaking. They did a tremendous job with it and we're looking forward to seeing it again! (Our daughters want to see it, too, I may go with them!)

The scenery was great, as were the songs. Otherwise, this film reminded me of a well-done high school production. The singing and dancing just weren't professional. BUT, the whole point of this movie is to have a good time and rock out to ABBA. The cast appeared to be enjoying themselves thoroughly, and the audience did, too. So on that point alone, the movie was successful.

Meryl Streep was superb! Pierce Brosnan looked more like he was lip syncing than singing. Probably not, his singing was so bad I think they would have chosen a better artist.

If I hadn't seen the theatre production first, I would no doubt have loved this movie! I still enjoyed it very much, but Pierce and Meryl's voices were not nearly strong enough to compare to the live performers. I didn't appreciate that some songs were moved around, sung by other characters or hardly even audible while unnecessary dialogue muffled what were some of the better ones. They took some of the funniest parts and made them less funny, but overall managed to do okay with the storyline. Meryl acted very well and the roles of Sky & Sophie were sung well. I will be buying the dvd when it comes out as it was good, but I was less impressed with this than Phantom, Rent and Hairspray's latest movie versions. The use of big names probably lessened the quality of voice more than improved the quality of the movie as a whole. Still worth a watching.

Absolutely fun! Thanks to ABBA's great music its 90 minutes of sing along and smiles. The casting was SO well done and nice eye candy! Meryl Streep was perfect and a joy to listen to! I thought they did a terrific job of making a play a movie. So. If you're a big fan of the musical, I don't think you will be disappointed. It's on the verge of being an audience participation movie like "Rocky Horror". Loads of fun.

Saw Mama Mia yetsreday, Lots of fun & laughs. I had seen the play on Broadway which was excellent and the movie didi not dissapoint. Go in with an open mind that it is a movie in which everyone breaks out in song at a drop of a hat ( like any Elvis movie) A good night out and very entertaining

I saw Mama Mia on stage and the movie is 10 times better! The whole theater was laughing hysterically. Can you picture James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) soulfully singing SOS? Colin Firth was also adorable, and Meryl Streep has a lovely voice. She sings The Winner Takes it All to Pierce standing on a mountainside overlooking the Mediterranean and the effect is stunning- think Jennifer Hudson belting There's No Way I'm Living Without You in Dream Girls. I'm seeing it again!

My husband & I, yes, husband thoroughly enjoyed every minute! I truly did want to get up & dance! The film just made me happy & feel good. The songs & singers were awesome & the scenery breathtaking.

I don't know why the critics panned this movie. If you want to laugh, smile, and have fun go see this movie. Is it the best produced movie I've ever seen no.
Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried have great voices, Amanda lights up the screen with energy and a great smile.
Go and have fun, enjoy this movie for what it is, a light hearted joyful show. Fun music, fun story and great music.
