Love the movie, Love Harrison. The way it was filmes with the colors and the backgrounds was wonderful and very Indiana Jones....
But really.... did we have to go there with the plot? Was there anything else he could have gone looking for? Don't want to give anything away so I will be vague. Despite that I enjoyed it very much.

After the Star Wars fiasco, I wasn't sure what to expect when George Lucas wanted to bring back the Indiana Jones movies. I was so sorely disappointed in the dialog, storyline, and acting of the Star Wars prequels . . . I didn't know if I trusted him anymore. But I was more than pleasantly surprised. The newest Indiana Jones movie was done in the true spirit of the past films. With some over-the-top action, funny dialog, and easy-going (less stilted) acting - it surpassed my expectations. Harrison Ford continues to look amazing and can command a scene with his boyish Indiana Jones smile. Shia LaBeouf effortlessly fits in with the existing cast - he has a knack for having a strong presence in his films without stealing the scenes. He is always a good addition. It was fun to see the character of Marion Ravenwood return to the cast - even though I didn't care for her character in the Raiders of the Lost Arc, I liked her a lot better this go around. If you love Indiana Jones - this movie will not disappoint.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Weak and lame plot; Harrison Ford didn't look like he was into it ; Shia was awful, a bad really bad choice for the role; chase scenes were too long, and too predictable; a few funny moments, but not the Indiana Jones you wanted; something for everyone, but that seemed like pandering from the Director.
Don't stand in line for this one.

I should start by saying I'm not an action movie fan, but I loved Raiders and went despite the professional reviews. The first 45 to 50 minutes were great: amazing cinematography, more character-driven action than normal, witty dialogue and as the mystery begins to present itself I was fascinated. The sequences with the magnetism were really creative. As with many action flicks, however, it devolved into one long chase scene with lots of CGI and it was too predictable. I never doubted that the heros would make it out alive, and when that's the case, the process of getting there has to be more interesting. The tension and suspense just weren't there. Perhaps just a little more emphasis that Indy is older, and maybe misses a bit more, not just the one time in the beginning, would have made our hero vulnerable and made us more concerned for him, but that was not the case. Spielberg has never been known for character development, but a little more creativity in getting us from beginning to end would have been nice. Despite having said this, I recommend the movie for it's first half. Watch the masters at work.

It was an excellent blend or action, humor, romance, and sentimentality. The script was great, the characters very developed, creepy crawlies were very creepy crawly, the wit and one liners were great as always, and the effects were awesome. Indy fans will NOT be disappointed.

If you like the Indiana Jones theme, then this movie is for you! All the classic chase and fight scenes to get the senses going. The basis for the story is true, but literary license takes over to tell the story the way only George Lucas can. Add in Steven Spielberg's imagination and you have an exciting adventure.
True Indy fans will get the references to all the earlier movies so when you go keep an out for them.
Overall, a fun time for all ages.

I am a huge Indy fan, but this last episode was a little too cheesy. I could almost buy the new Indy protege, but when Marion came on the scene, and the extreme sci-fi theme was revealed, I was extremely disappointed. Harrison remained true to the role, and the action sequences were on par, but I didn't like the whole science fiction twist. The film was entertaining, but my vote is for the original Raiders and the third installment of the Last Crusade.

Indiana Jones has been one of my favorite trilogies of all time for as long as I can remember. That said, I think Lucas and Spielberg should be shot for ruining the series. I had heard that the movie would use as little CG as possible in keeping with the other movies that were too old to have that benefit. Despite the excellent well done action sequences, it seemed too big and overpowring in relation to the other films. I also miss the good but not perfect quality of the 35mm film. The digital was just too sharp and it missed some of that nostalgia of the old films. That said, as far as the cinematography went, the film was well done.
The story line was the killer. I must admit, I miss the Germans. Somehow the KGB just didn't cut it, and knowing a lot about the Russians and the KGB, the story line was as about as unrealistic as it could have gotten. The previous Indy films had always done a masterful job of creating fantasy out of real subjects in a manner that it all seemed 90% plausible. I'd say this film was 10% plausible. In the previews, the film looked amazing, but there was no indication of aliens involved. If they had taken a Temple of Doom approach, something with tribal rituals and powers instead of aliens, I'd probably be singing the film's praises right now. I'm sorry, but aliens in and Indy film (Indy is an archeologist, not an astronaut) was just terrible. As for the characters, Mac was good, and played his role well. Marion just seemed slap happy. Mutt, don't even get me started. I liked Shia LeBeouf until now, but all he ever does is comb is hair and talk like he's hot stuff. Spalko, or whatever Kate Blanchett's name was, was way too sterile. John Hurt did well, but he had a really small part. Harrison Ford did well for an old guy, but his one liners were empty, instead of the impromptu zingers we got used to in the other three. My final judgement would be, if you absolutely have to see it, rent it when it comes out, don't waste your money on a ticket.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

then you are going to like this one.
I grew up with Indiana Jones...heck, I think most of us wanted to BE Indiana Jones when we grew up so needless to say I've been looking forward to this movie for years and I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed.
My biggest concern going in was whether or not Harrison Ford would be believable as the now sixty something Dr. Jones and whether or not Dr. Jones could still be believable as the super cool action hero. The answer is yes on both sides. Ford plays Indy perfectly, a little bit older, a lot more grayer, not quite as nimble as he used to be, but bottom line, he can still roll with the best of them.
The story is decent and makes for some great action sequences and just about all of the supporting characters do the job well. Cate Blantchett does an excellent job as the villian and Karen Allen returning as Marion was a nice touch. Watching Indy and Marion go at it was a nice nostalgic flashback.
If you (for some strange reason) were never a fan of the originals their is nothing in this one that will make you change your mind about the series. However, if you want to enjoy yourself for a couple of hours with some good solid popcorn enterainment then you shouldn't miss out on Indy's latest adventures.

For all the bad reviews that it got, I was pleasantly surprised that they were proven wrong. Sometimes these critics go into these movies expecting them to be just like the others, especially if they are one of a series. For starters, this movies starts off about 20 years later, its no surprise to me that Indy is older but he is still the same vigorous and exciting man he used to be. He still kicks quite a punch and can hold his own in a fight. The action was non stoppable AND entertaining. I didnt find anything unbelievable about the skulls cause I know the legend of the crystal skull from mayan history. If you like Indiana Jones movies, then you will like this one. Go and see it and dont give a thought to what the critics say. What do they know? Most movies they review badly I like anyway! This one was NO EXCEPTION!!! It was great!

I don't know why they waited until Harrison Ford was so....sorry....old! However, he did a great job! I wasn't too sure he could pull of the action but he did! There was a ton of action and the movie had my attention from beginning to end. I have to agree with a couple of other reviews when it came to the alien thing. Why? I love the history involved in the Indiana Jones movies and I don't believe in aliens. That being said, I would still recommend this movie to anyone who likes action.

I wouldn't say it is the best Indy Movie but I will say that if you saw any of the first three you should see this one. If you didn't see the first three there will be parts of this one that you won't understand why others in the theatre are laughing. As most of the thirty something people, I was looking forward to seeing this movie but, I am sad to report that the magic of what used to be Indiana Jones was definitely not replicated on this installement. The plot is convoluted and the humour is pale in comparison, It's non- stop action but in a very ridiculous way...in other words, not much effort was put in this movie to get that mystical aspect back and if you were expecting the find the greatness of Indiana Jones from 25 years ago, you will be sadly dissapointed...it's entertaining but not good...worth $10 and an evening ?...you be the judge ...

This was a fun, enjoyable and satisfying movie. It felt like a reunion with characters you've missed for a long time. Is it a great film? No. But it's definitely worth the time to see on the big screen. Indy is back - older - but he's still Indy. Karen Allen coming back as Marion was terrific. She was and always will be the best female foil for Indy. Cate Balnchett was terrific as the "bad guy." The movie is over the top, silly and wildy entertaining. It's a terrific holiday diversion.

I am a huge Indiana Jones fan, but I was a little disappointed by Crystal Skull. There is really no new ground here -- it is pretty formulaic. This time Indy's arch-nemesis is a Russian woman played by Cate Blanchette, and they are looking for clues to find the Crystal Skull in ordeer to achieve world domination -- yada yada . . . .. So they look all over the place, including in the same warehouse that holds the Arc of the Covenant from the First Indy Movie. They find clues and go on adventures through the jungle, see a lot of bugs (ants and scorpions this time through) and lots of natives guarding the ultimate destination. And at the end of it all --- I just said "who cares", One thing is revealed in this movie that may keep the franchise going for years to come -- I won't give it away, but it involves Shia LaBoeuf's character.
It was fun enough for two hours, but I really wanted and expected a lot more.

Take my advice...if you're teetering on whether to see this in theaters or not...just wait. Wait until its on video or on HBO...wait until it's on network television...wait until its the fox sunday afternoon movie..but DON'T pay to see this piece of garbage in the theaters.
In essence, this movie was two incredibly long hours involving stupid plot lines, terrible acting, and inconceivable action sequences. The things that made the first three so exciting was there was always a shroud of believability...even in the most outrageous scenes. I was not impressed with anything regarding this movie. What's worse is they made it apparent that the torch is going to be passed to Shia, who has become Steven Spielberg's new toy. It's almost Michael Jackson-esque; man-crush they have for one another. To each his own, I suppose.
Bottom line: if you only want to see this movie for sentimental value, you're much better off just renting and watching the first three and not tarnishing the memory of them.

Though I would recommend this movie to a friend, I would first have to tell them that I didn't believe it lived up to all the hype. It was Harrison Ford engaging in predictable "Indy" antics, the only bright spot was Shia LeBoeouf providing the occasional, comic relief. Some people in the theater actually applauded when the movie was over; but I'm not sure they were clapping because the movie was good or because the movie "over". On a scale of 1 to five, I give the move a 2,5! Not Good not bad!
