Enough of the batman movies. Even though Heath Ledger is dead the movie i still only avg. special effects NOT too many bad guys dont know who is the real bad guy. Just WAY OVER RATED because 1 person dies before the movie comes out.

I was very impressed with the direction this movie took - not the typical "Batman" genre yet not so far that it looses the Batman theme. The appointed actors and their roles were perfectly matched. The movie stayed with the most noted Batman idiocyncricies, yet added a bit more "humaness" to Batman, without adding too much unbelievability. Interesting script with many thought provoking conversations. A long movie, yet it kept you wanting more. Not a person who likes to see movies twice, this one I definitely would.

ho hum. Simple demonstration of gaming theory, "The only way to win is not to play" being interpreted as moral dilemma. Action and more action. I found Ironman much more entertaining and interesting than The Dark Knight.
makeup/digital animation of the wounded character was exceptional. Actor playing The Joker was good, not great. The rest of the actors were tired and predictable.

some really great morality questions are raised in the movie, presenting many levels of meaning. Few moments with cliched exposition, which can be a bit nauseating, but overall, very moving and impactful.

After seeing Iron man I thought Batman was going to be a disappointment. How wrong was I? Oscar buzz for Nolan bros. with this film. Dialog of violent characters philosophizing about violence, the writing gives this acting ensemble enticing life and performances, all above average. Gary Oldman's quietly intense performance gets over looked by Ledgers popular portrayal. Refreshing to see stunt work brought back to film in a huge way, what a roller coaster ride. The best movie I've seen in years. The visuals, the sounds, the performances, editing, direction, cinematography, all around great movie. Must see for big screen or IMAX even better.

What is dark about this movie? What does Batman do that is sooo bad that he crosses the line? The movie had no plot. Stuff happened and then it was over.
The moral dilemma was far too weak to depict a "chase me" ending. And who destroyed the cell phone tapping computer? Batman did when he told Lucius Fox to do it for him. Batman never really lost sight of being good. Was that not the entire point of the movie was for Batman to cross that line? If it was, Christopher Nolan failed miserably.
The action was entertaining, the Joker was funny, but there's not much else there.

As the series of Batman movies matures they take on a more dark viewpoint as well as more mature and complex themes. In Dark Knight we see the complexity of being a hero mixed with the fantasy of peoples heroes, "The Hero we want versus the Hero we Need" story line is engaging and holds your attention. Heath Ledger is nothing short of fantastic in his role, showing many facets to the sinister Joker, while still maintaining the ability to be a "joker".
The only downside to the movie is the suspension of disbelief levels that sometimes get a little out there. But if you are able to let the movie carry you away, you will not be disappointed at all. A very good movie and certainly "Worth the Time"

I saw it today. Apprehensive to take my 7 yr old because I heard it was dark and disturbing.
Joker was intense. Ledger's acting was perfect. I was surprised to see Eric Roberts. He looks even more handsome these days.
Gary Oldman too! Freeman and Caine were flawless. Lots of action and violence. So many characters, I had trouble following the story. Couldn't figure out who was good, who was bad. Who was in love with whom? Who was doing what???? Had to read the reviews to figure it out. Overall, good movie.
Best joker I've seen.
My son liked it and wasn't too disturbed. I kept covering his eyes whenever I thought it was going to be too much. He didn't complain.

What a mess! I am a lifelong fan of Batman, and while I appreciate the darker approach, the scattered plot and story line was really annoying. The action sequences were a total mess, you never knew what was where, and good possibilities for story lines were not explored. And either 45 minutes or a week too long, we couldn't really decide. Watch the first hour and a half and leave or wait for the rental.

I put off seeing this batman movie because I wasn't caught up in the Heath Ledger mania; however, once I saw the movie I was thrilled with the acting. The late Mr. Ledger put on a magnificent performance. I hope that he wins an Oscar. Christian Bale did a very good job as Batman.

I was disappointed in this movie. The plot was horrible and had no sense to it. Although Batman was a dark figure who took justice into his own hands the move did not do justice to Batman. It depicted him as a confused vigilante
who was not sure if he should continue or quit his superhero role. It was a terrible depiction of this comicbook hero.
The effects were not bad; and, the role of the Joker was very good.
The plot was as confused as the deptiction of Batman. Bruce Wayne was not a confused playboy as the storyline depicted him. He was a man who lost his parents to crime as a small boy and swore to fight crime with the wealth that was left to him.
I suggest that fans stick to the comicbooks.

The movie was incredible, even better then the first. I'm so glad someone made Batman the way he was suposed to be, the dark tormented soul, not the cookie cutter joke that the Keaton movies and ones after were.
