Me and my husband saw The Dark Knight last weekend. Let me tell you. WOW!!!! It was amazing. I thought it would be hard for this to out do Batman Begins. It was right up there with it. Christian Bale, by far the best Batman yet. For me though I liked Katie Holmes better as Rachel. All the other characters, loved them. As far as HEATH LEDGER. I have one word, OSCAR. Go see this on the big screen. Do not wait for the DVD. Buy the DVD, but your first experience should be at the theater.

I grew up on the comic books as a kid I found that heath ledgers performance was as close to the original jokers as Ive ever seen I can,t get over the fact that his performance was dead on I have to admit i did not hear much about him or seen to many of his movies but i thought that he did an exceptional job portraying the joker that he deserves an Oscar for his performance the action scenes were awesome i highly recommend this movie to basically anyone but I would not let my kids see it there are some scenes that are to intense for kids in this movie otherwise it is well worth seeing it two thumbs up great movie.

Though a good movie, I'm not sure this movie lived up to all the hype. Then again, I'm not sure what movie could. Though a bit too long, It was still a good action movie and really should be seen in a theater. At least twice, I thought it was over only to be hit with another twist in the plot. Though I think they tried to do two movies in one, it kept you guessing and leaves you wondering what they're going to do in the next movie. Definitely worth the admission price.

I greatly enjoyed this movie. The storyline, the acting, and the visuals all combined for an extreme experience. Heath Legder's performance was truly hair raising and intense. So sad that he is gone. I think this was his best work ever and it really made the movie, eclipsing even that of Christian Bale. I was horrified upon seeing what was done to Aaron Eckhart's handsome face when his character emerged as 2 Face. I truly could have done with out Maggie Gyllenhale's pitiful performance and almost cheered when her character was killed. Although, Katie Holme's acting isn't much better, I would have much prefered seeing her than Maggie, who looked quite old and unattractive in this movie. I would go gladly see this movie again, dispite her presence.

A little long, but worth every minute of your time !
The special effects were on point, the acting was not predictable and,the twist and turns had a meaning, or just lead you to a new part of the plot, but it all came together at the end.
Heath Ledger, can NOT be replaced, for he put on the best perfomance of the Joker I have ever seen, (and I've seen a lot of them !) Good Luck Mr Nolan, I would hate to be in your shoes trying to replace him for the highly anticipated sequel.
This is one "Killer Flick", GO SEE IT !!!!

Simply, this was an excellent film. I don't even generally like Batman, but this movie was incredible--and we're not just talking among superhero flicks, here. It had all the theme development that any good story needs, which I really appreciated. They addressed very adult, very edgy themes and still didn't miss a beat. I actually believed that the characters were on the knife's edge between good and evil throughout the movie, and was often troubled, wondering what I would do in such circumstances. It got inside my head, which was exactly what it meant to do.
What really stood out to me as far as the plot development was that it followed all the rules of starting out at peace and building to a climax, but then it did what I didn't expect: it gave a false climax and just kept right on going--and all my friends and I totally took the bait. Marvelous. And the acting was spectacular on all counts--none more amazing than Heath Ledger.
Sadly that is the one thing I do have against the movie. What do I mean? Well, I couldn't help but think, every time I saw how brilliantly and disturbingly Ledger played the role of the Joker, about the fact that he is no longer with us--in part because he played this role so well.
Great movie, yes. But the price it cost seems too great, so, personally, I simultaneously respect and dislike this excellent film.

I didn't think he was a good looking batman, as there is some lisp issue with his mouth that you see when wearing his mask. I also think his love interest could be prettier to make it more fun to watch. The joker was good and believable.

I am not going to say that this is the best movie ever made but it is the BEST Batman movie ever. Ledger as the Joker was superb. He make you think about the person next to you and how demented and cunning person can be. I like this Joker for this new Batman series because these movies are suppose to be dark and He play one bad dude. Bale is the best Batman I believe. Plus, this movie has a twist and turn in every corner which is nice because you don't know what to expect. It is dark and it is violent throughout the entire movie. If you are concerned about the violence in the movie and the rating 'PG-13', well you shouldn't be. Batman got the proper rating it deserved. People were getting shot and dying right and left but when they did it was so fast that you knew what happened but never saw decapitation or puddles of blood and all the gore graphic images that you would see in a rated 'R' movie. How else are going to make a movie dark without having to hide every ounce of violence? Really compared to the first Batman with Keaton, this movie had the same amount and kind of violence. I think the Naysayers magnified it by the darkness in this movie (which is dark and depressing). Moving on from that, this movie tells 3 different stories. Batman trying to escape being batman and getting on with a semi-normal life. Harvey Dent (two-face) and his becoming and the Joker and his plot to destroy Gotham in a very psychopathic, devious way. For those who are concerned about a story in this movie, well there is one. It gets over shadowed by all the action. Remember the story of batman and the arrival of the Joker was all staged and set-up in Batman Begins. So basically if your lost watch the first one before this because it is a lot slower and will help you get through this 2 and a half hour piece of comic book art. In the end, for this Batman series, these movies kinda keep it real. Like this could really happen if you had the money for a bat-suit and a tank- like bat-mobile. It isn't all that fake in all the weaponry or in its plot line. If what you're expecting is a funny looking bat-mobile and stupid gadgets and nipples on a bat suit and a childish 'makes no sense' plot line then go watch Batman Forever and Batman & Robin from the last botched up series. Believe me you'll be thankful for this darker side of batman and the Joker.

I thought the Dark Knight was fantastic! Action, action, action! The acting all the way around was great, but I have to say this about Heath Ledger's performance...unrecogizable. Not just because of the physical disguise, but his performance. Mannerisms, voice, the way he moved. I am saddened to think that he will not go on and make more movies using his huge talent! Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhall and Erin eckhart - ALL phenomenal! I don't have too much to say about the ending (because I'm not sure how I feel about it) and I definitely wouldn't give anything away, but I am very interested to see what the future holds for the Batman.

The best thing I can say is awesome. It was the best movie I have seen for a long time. I have already seen it twice and if possible will see it again. It was even better the second time around. Christian was excellant and Heath was superb and at his top form.
There was a lot of action and it keeps you at the end of your seat. You forget about everything around you and imagine you are there alone. It is a longer movie but I still wish there was more. Actually I give it 10 stars. If you never see any movie this year you don't want to miss this one. It was fantastic.

I am shocked and awed by this movie. It is much better then any pervious Batman or super hero movie period. Heath Ledger's Joker makes you forget about Jack Nicholson's which is hard to even fathom. Sorry Jack.
Special effects were very good, not over the top. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were fine with what they had to work with, Aaron Eckhart was great as a tormented two face .
Maggie gyllenhaal was an interesting casting for her role in a bizzare love triangle that ends badly for all parties. She was best known so far opposite James Spader in the Secratary and perhaps the casting people were being cheeky.
Overall this movie Rocks You...

Not a movie a I would recommend taking a younger child to, read the warning when it says PG-13, that's what it literally means. The scenes with Two-Face and Joker are pretty intense. However, right before something gruesome happens, the camera pulls away so you don't see anything too bad.
However, all in all the movie was AMAZING. I'm not a professional movie critic, but this movie beat Iron Man by so much. It was wonderful, every part of the movie was intriguing. I absolutely loved Heath Ledger's performance, it is one of his best roles. It is sad that he passed away but he will always be remembered for every role he's done, including this one especially. Aaron Eckhart was wonderful as Harvey Dent/Two-Face as well, some people overlook his performance because of Heath Ledger creating the character known as Joker. And of course Christian Bale was PERFECT as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
Everything was enjoyable about this movie. I'm partial to the Joker because he is of course my favorite villain. But everything else was great! My favorite parts had to be when the Joker first came into the scene to talk to the thugs/criminals, and of course the fight scenes.
Everyone should go see this!! Whether you follow the comic books or not, it's one of my favorite movies now!

I'm not a Batman fan but everyone kept telling me what a great movie this was. At 2.5 hours it was entirely too long for a mediocre movie at best. Heath Ledger did an alright job with the role. Compared to Jack, Heath's role was much sinister and darker than Jacks who was crazy in a funny way. If it weren't 2.5 hours, I'd give it 3 stars.

Without a doubt one of Heath Ledger's finest performances. He captures the true character of the Joker and pulls you into Gotham City. The entire movie leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat, wondering which turn will be taken. Yes, these Batman films are darker than the Tim Burton versions, who would have thought? However, the stunning performances of all involved can make the comic book world proud.

I love the use of chicago that can clearly bee seen in most of the movie scenes, and Heath Ledger's Joker is by far the best joker ever as well as heath ledger's best performance ever. Yeah, the crusader, Bale plays a little bit DARKER and a little more complicated Batman than the priors. The nemesis Joker, is awesome! Yes, Heath's last performance was indeed his best! I loved the exerpt from Brokeback "You complete me!" We watched from a studio movie grill where the speakers were in the wall behind us. I swear I could feel the rumblings of the BAT BIKE!! The acting, sound, special effects, stunts, story line were all award-winning.
