I've never been a Trek fan until yesterday. I took my 88 year old pop to the movie as he has been a fan since the original TV show(and I have teased him about it for 20 years).
I was not expecting much, especially since seeing Wolverine (I am a huge fan) and being completely dissapointed and bored to tears.
Star Trek was absolutely amazing and the casting was superb. Unbelieveable non-stop action (Wolverine had a snooze-fest surrounded by action). You learned the back story on Kirk and Spock w/out being bored and it made you really understand their characters.
Simply kick-azz.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Lots of action, dark and brooding like Batman should be...Heath was very good, but not as over-the-top as some have pariased. Very solid movie, but damn, Rachel Dawes was bitt-effing UGLY!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
