My daughter liked this movie, but I could feel the synapses in my brain shutting off. It was great for kids 3-7 tops. Parents drink coffee or bring some with you.
My kids enjoyed this movie, but I am not sure they understood it all however. The family values from the 50's idea was a nice touch but was that for the adults? Some of today's parents won't even remember the 50's. I thought it was ok but not sure it has legs.
Imagine that. A story that will appeal to kids and parents also, Imagine that. A movie that will make you laugh with your kids out loud Imagine that. A movie that finally allows Eddie to find his family comedy acting chops Imagine that. It was nice seeing Ronny Cox on screen again also as something other then Bogemiller. My kids gave it 4 stars, I'll give it 3. My daughter did not need to go to the bathroom at all, which goes well with the way I rate this movie, but she did fall asleep on me. My son 12 went to bathroom 3 times.
I was curious if the New Star Trek would live up to the hype and it did. The Pacing was much like a Star Wars movie with two tales being told from their respective origins. Kirk and Spock arrive on the Enterprise albeit through much different paths. They were true to the Christopher Pike story line and much of what was originally thought up by Gene Roddenbury.
The visuals are quite impressive and they pay their respects along the way to the original. Stand out performances include Karl Urban as Mccoy, and Simon Pegg as Scotty. Seeing John Cho aka Harold take on Sulu was a nice get also.
Monsters vs Aliens seemed a bit familiar and that's because it was so predictable. 2 out of our three kids got through the whole movie. 1 just didn't like all the noise and flashing 3D and walked out.
There are a few 3D sequences that were very very loud, and flashy with simulated 3D animated violence.
Will this movie entertain your kids yes it will. Will you want to save it for a rainy day yes I think you should.
There are a few long drawn out stories that become intertwined in this DC comics movie. This movie is not for Kids, there is sex and blood and lots of it. Go with your guy pals, it's long, it's well done, the stories and characters are all interesting, and when you leave the theater you know you were entertained. The question remains by what?
There was cleanup from the last movie to be taken out like the trash and it was dealt with. The establishment of a new evil group opposite mi6 is established. Bond sleeps with a girl, and kills everyone on his way to even the score against those responsible for Vespa's killing. There seems to be less plot however in this one and more attempts to set up the next one. The new Broccoli team seem rushed to this without deeper character development. overall it was visually exciting and they put it all up on the screen the way Cubby liked it.
This is a Cartoon version, it also follows its own storyline and aside from familiar names and settings from original it's a new storyline unto itself. Its about Anni and his own padwan and their involvement in the rescue of Jabba the huts kidnapped son. It does not tell us when or if this has anything to do with the original storyline and that's because it does not. This movie is one part star wars, one part japanese anime and if you take it as part of Star Wars sextet you will be very disappointed. If however you have a 5 year old and she loves it as mine did then this star wars is just fine. She liked seeing Yoda on the screen and seeing her laugh and smile was worth the price of admission.
I am shocked and awed by this movie. It is much better then any pervious Batman or super hero movie period. Heath Ledger's Joker makes you forget about Jack Nicholson's which is hard to even fathom. Sorry Jack.
Special effects were very good, not over the top. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were fine with what they had to work with, Aaron Eckhart was great as a tormented two face .
Maggie gyllenhaal was an interesting casting for her role in a bizzare love triangle that ends badly for all parties. She was best known so far opposite James Spader in the Secratary and perhaps the casting people were being cheeky.
The movie was highly anticipated and liked by both my kids. Both kids said it dragged at times, and my 11 year old said the ending part was too drawn out, my 5 year old said it was boring at times. Probably not what a Disney Pixar should garnish.
The message that we are all headed to being obese blobs that sit in front of screens all day is a good message. Parents do need to get their kids off the couch and active rather then letting them play station their lives away doing nothing. That message alone may be the best part of the movie.
The short film prior to the feature was very good , perhaps less is more.
