I have been seeing previews for this movie since last year some time and I was actually looking forward to seeing it. I was all ready with my daquiri and my nachos and that movie started. About 25 minutes into the movie, I found myself asking myself "What the feezy is this mess?" "Did I actually spend $9.50 to see this?" There was sooo much nudity: I mean how many times do I have to look at this mans blue penis? The full frontal nudity really caught me off guard as did the violence. I kept thinking "Why?"
I liked the first Hellboy and it was the only reason why I rushed out to see this one. I was highly disappointed in the entire story. It seemed to all over without any specific direction. I hope there is not a part III and if there is, I think I will wait until it is on cable. If I could have, I would have requested my money back on this one.
This movie was better than I expected it to be. Yes, the acting was a little cheesy and the story line could use a little more work, but it was captivating. There was action in every scene and it kept me interested to see what would happen next. I found myself laughing and jumping throughout this movie. I love Jason Statham, especially when he takes off his shirt, pants, etc. Not a great actor, but a great action player.
I greatly enjoyed this movie. The storyline, the acting, and the visuals all combined for an extreme experience. Heath Legder's performance was truly hair raising and intense. So sad that he is gone. I think this was his best work ever and it really made the movie, eclipsing even that of Christian Bale. I was horrified upon seeing what was done to Aaron Eckhart's handsome face when his character emerged as 2 Face. I truly could have done with out Maggie Gyllenhale's pitiful performance and almost cheered when her character was killed. Although, Katie Holme's acting isn't much better, I would have much prefered seeing her than Maggie, who looked quite old and unattractive in this movie. I would go gladly see this movie again, dispite her presence.
Watching this movie reminded me of all those episodes I used to anxiously await on HBO. Sunday nights were my favorite just because of Sex and the City. It did make me a little sad because some of the storyline reminded me of my own life. That is what I loved so much about this movie: I could relate to the characters. Even though it made me a little sad, I still thoroughly enjoyed watching it.
I hadn't heard very much about this movie or the Iron Man comics so I didn't have any expectations. Since I was looking for something interesting to do with my Saturday night, I decided to see it. I've never been a fan of Robert Downey, Jr: the drugs, the arrest, etc, but I found his performance in this movie surprisingly funny and quite impressive. It was so good, I wouldn't mind seeing it again and I don't feel that way about many movies.
