This was a an amazing summer action movie, the performance by Bale, Ledger, and Exkhart was amazing, and the story was phenomenal, this is a movie not jsut for batman fans,. but alo for any fan of a good action flick.

This is a great movie and like nothing I've seen before (in terms of the typical super hero/comic book movie genre treatment). The performances are all first rate: Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal etc. etc. The story, situations, and political themes are completely relevant to this day and age.
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are Hollywood royalty and show it in every single moment that they occupy the screen.
I saved the best for last (I still can't believe he's no longer with us). Heath Ledger gives a brilliant performance as the joker. He had awesome shoes to fill. (I'm a fan of Jack Nicholson's portrayal as well), and before I knew that it was Heath under all that makeup, I was skeptical that anyone could begin to compete with Mr. Nicholson’s performance. Heath found a way to do this without trying to fill the shoes at all. In his riveting performance, he invents a new joker, totally plausible, who takes you on a crazy emotional roller coaster ride that is side-splittingly funny and terrifying intermittently throughout the movie.
If he doesn’t win the Oscar next March for this performance, I’ll stop watching the show altogether.
If an actor has to exit, this is way to do it. Heath Ledger left this world at the top of his craft. Had he lived longer, I can only imagine the heights that his career would have acheived.
Go see the Dark Knight. See Heath Ledger’s final performance. It’s movie greatness.
God speed Heath.

The best movie of the year!!!! Heath Ledger did an incredible job of protraying the evil villian, Joker. Kudos to Christopher Nolan. Everything was truly perfect in this film. The hard work paid off big time. Awesome job!!!!!

This movie was very dark. I felt that it was sometimes very slow in developing. Heath Ledger was AWESOME and made the movie. I can tell that he really got into his role. I would recommend this movie with a thumbs up!

This is by far the best in the Batman series and is also the best superhero movie that I have ever seen. Be warned however, this is much darker than the others in the series. Absolutelty fantastic!

The hype was about Ledger's awesome portrayal of the Joker and how it is Oscar-worthy. In my opinion, it is not. Yes, Ledger delivered an amazing performance, but like his previous movies, he has always been great in all of his roles. The Dark Knight is really no different. If he was still alive, I believe he could still outdo the Joker.
The movie is not boring at all, and if you are a Batman fan, you would definitely enjoy it. I am not big on recent Batman movies and only really went because of Heath Ledger, but I liked how it kept me on the edge of my seat. The 2 1/2 hours went by fast.
So yeah, go see The Dark Knight so you could join in on your friends' endless discussions. Four stars for performance, effects, storyline, pacing and the darkest Joker ever. xxx

The movie was great, however I don't feel that the words "Oscar Worthy" should be tossed around with regard to Heath Ledger's performance. He created a "Joker" that was sadistic and amazing, but it was just an exemplary piece of character acting. Overall, Bale, Caine, Gyllenhall, Eckhart, Ledger, and Oldman all played great parts. Christian Bale is the best "Batman" since Michael Keaton - I can't wait for the next installment.

Heath steals the show in an already fantastical movie. Not one true weak link (sans maybe Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent) in this movie, be it the cinematography, the storyline, direction, acting, soundtrack. Everything fell in place wonderfully.
Instant classic but please make sure if you take children they're mature enough to see it. My 12 year old got noticeably nervous everytime Heath appeared and for good reason.

The movie was honestly terrible. To much horrible dialog, that was repeated over and over again. It was like listening to a bad voice over. The Joker was well portrayed but the one that I really thought stole the show was Harvey Dent.
It was better than the first one but thats really not saying much.

My expectations were high going in but the movie delivered in so many ways. Heath Ledger's performance will garner him a posthumous Oscar. Trust me on this! If that alone were it, the movie would still be worth seeing, but exceptional performances were delivered by Christian Bale in his reprise of Batman (The Dark Knight), Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent (Gotham's District Attorney), Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Lt. Gordon and Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox.
The story was solid and Ledger will truly make you understand who the Joker really is/was in the world of the Gotham and The Dark Knight. I dare not say too much because I don't want to spoil it, but this Joker is twisted and echoes fears of how far a real psychotic killer could go if he wanted to wreak enough havoc.
My only sadness is that it went by way too fast and that Heath won't be able to bring that character to life again.

I will say I enjoyed this movie. There were times where I thought the "batman voice" that Christian Bale uses is a bit cheesey and it sort of distracted me from the movie. But that is my own personal opinion. Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker was amazing. He deserves the Oscar for that role as the Joker. I enjoyed the fact that Batman is turning towards being a darker movie. That is what i enjoyed from the first 2 that came out. There is violence and pyscho charaters that remind you of the old ones, and thats what I love about this one. "Batman voice" aside, I would have really loved this movie. But don't let the "voice" stop you from seeing it.

Without a doubt one of the best dramatically performed comic series of the action figure star Batman. Strongly recommend seeing this movie but you must see Batman Begins first. Very stratgically thought out twists pertaining to the origanal story-lines. Thumbs up.

I really liked the movie but felt that it deserved an R rating due to the dark subject matter - it was a lot for my 13 year old daughter - it was an intense movie for me and I am 43. By the end of the movie I was really ready for the violence to end. It was an incredible performance by Heath Ledger - definitely Oscar worthy.

With all of the hype surrounding Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker, I was expecting to be disappointed, since I thought the buildup was difficult to believe. I was wrong. Heath Ledger's turns in a towering performance of epic proportions. It's impossible to imagine where he drew the various components of the character he creates, but suffice it to say it is totally original and archetypical. No one will ever be able to play The Joker again. Ever. If he doesn't win the Best Actor Oscar, the SAG Best Actor and the Golden Globe Best Actor awards, I just might stop going to the movies. That's how good he is. The movie is actually nothing more than ordinary every moment he is not on the screen. His presence in every frame is mesmerizing and spellbinding. Drop whatever you're doing and go see this movie. Right now. Do it.

This is an excellent film--fantastic performances from all involved and a much more realistic "look" than the first (which I also liked). Ledger really makes your hair stand on end with his unsettling creepiness. Definitely not a "fun" summer flick (like "Hellboy"), but a truly great movie.

Awesome film! Definitely the best Batman yet! I loved so many things about it: (1) For once they showed Gotham City as a big modern day city should be - not how previously depicted - constantly dark/overcrowded/filthy street scenes with very few scenes shot in daylight; (2) I loved how Heath Ledger breathed new life into the Joker's character with his performance and portrayal of the Joker as the profoundly deranged, cunning, despicable, melodramatic villain with a twisted humor; (3) all the cool gadgets and technology; (4) all the other great actors. I could go on and on but my best advice will be "GO SEE THE MOVIE!"
