I really liked the movie but felt that it deserved an R rating due to the dark subject matter - it was a lot for my 13 year old daughter - it was an intense movie for me and I am 43. By the end of the movie I was really ready for the violence to end. It was an incredible performance by Heath Ledger - definitely Oscar worthy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
