You Must see this Movie

This is a great movie and like nothing I've seen before (in terms of the typical super hero/comic book movie genre treatment). The performances are all first rate: Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal etc. etc. The story, situations, and political themes are completely relevant to this day and age.
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are Hollywood royalty and show it in every single moment that they occupy the screen.
I saved the best for last (I still can't believe he's no longer with us). Heath Ledger gives a brilliant performance as the joker. He had awesome shoes to fill. (I'm a fan of Jack Nicholson's portrayal as well), and before I knew that it was Heath under all that makeup, I was skeptical that anyone could begin to compete with Mr. Nicholson’s performance. Heath found a way to do this without trying to fill the shoes at all. In his riveting performance, he invents a new joker, totally plausible, who takes you on a crazy emotional roller coaster ride that is side-splittingly funny and terrifying intermittently throughout the movie.
If he doesn’t win the Oscar next March for this performance, I’ll stop watching the show altogether.
If an actor has to exit, this is way to do it. Heath Ledger left this world at the top of his craft. Had he lived longer, I can only imagine the heights that his career would have acheived.
Go see the Dark Knight. See Heath Ledger’s final performance. It’s movie greatness.
