This film was a real surprise to me. Instead of constant blow them up, etc, the movie really focused on the person, the motives behind the person and the real reason for his becoming 'Iron Man'. This is what set the movie apart. In Spiderman, for instance, it was a spider bite that turned him into Spiderman. He used the powers that he suddenly found he had. In this movie, the person purposfully becomes the superhero in order to undo what his company, through a rogue assistant, has done throughout the world. A real 'good guy/bad guy' movie and very well done.

Iron Man was fantastic. They did a good job of keeping the pace moving without any really downtime. Stan Lee must be laughing his way to the bank with all these Marvel movies. Anyways, Robert Downey Jr. carries this film entirely. I really feel Downey was born for this part especially since Stark's personal life later in the comic series is similar to Downey's. Go see this movie and don't make the mistake to leave when the credits start rolling...wait till the end for a nice treat.

Iron Man is good in the way Spider-Man 1 was good. Film wise its better in a lot of ways. But when the first Spider-Man film came out it started the big rush for comics in films. Iron Man has taken the next step in the genre. A must see.
P.S. Stay through the credits for an extra scene!

One word...Phenomenal! It exceeeded my expectations. Clearly this was a labor of love upon the parts of all the actors and Director, John Favreau. This was anything but a Joel Shumaker Batman movie from the '90s.
The CGI was spectacular. Finally, an action/adventure move that has a great story and great special effects. George Lucas, you could learn from this...
This is a big screen movie. Go see it in a theatre and you won't be disappointed.

This was a great action movie, not just a great comic book movie. My wife, not a comic book kid, really enjoyed this as much as I did. The humor along side the action events was very well done. Robert Downey Jr. was perfectly cast for this role. A glimpse of War Machine would have been nice but this was a great one, right up there with Spiderman and Batman Begins!

The storyline, plot sequence and overall acting in this adaptation of Iron Man was excellent. All the press about Robert Downey Jr.'s performance is correct and right on! Although there is no super villan, the story should most certainly continue and this Marvel Comics character will become the next "SpiderMan" franchise ...

A thoroughly fun movie, with many moments that made the crowd cheer in the show I went to! Definitely a "Big Screen" picture that should be seen in a theater, preferably one with the biggest screen possible! Looking forward to the next one!

Everything in this movie manages to hit exactly the right note. Robert Downey Jr is brilliant as Tony Stark. Gwenyth Paltrow's Pepper Potts is a perfect balance of "assistant" and "empowered modern woman". Jeff Bridges' character is the most low-key but well-played comic book "bad guy" I've seen in ages. And the special effects only enhance the otherwise well-acted movie, rather than overwhelm.
A true movie classic.

I thought the movie was awesome. Robert Downey Jr. was nice in this money. Couldn't have picked anyone better. The movie was funny, action packed and just an all together something you got to see. The special effects we're amazing. I would spend another $8.50 to see it again. I just might.

Iron Man was done the right way. Keeping most of the elements of the comic book and also adding current time situations.
The acting was great from all the actors. Great special effects. The movie looks great. Great idea at the end.

I am 60 and my wife 59. We sat there last night, loving every minute of this movie, and actually wondering if the 10 and 11 year old boys (virtually no girls in the theater) would really understand the complexities and the delights of the plot, the extraordinary performances, etc., etc. Sure, there were the fight scenes but there is so much more here. Now, how we will we get our rather stodgy friends to go? May my wife and I never age in such a way that we no longer enjoy the delights of a multi-faceted masterpiece such as this.

Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson all did a wonderful job making this movie a success.
The action was not over the top. It had a good story line. I liked the fact that the bad guys were realistic vs. some factious eastern European type.
Robert owned the character and I think Jeff did some of his best work of his carreer.

I took my son and a couple of his friends to see Iron Man. I must say that for the first time in a long while I actually felt as though spending a lot of money to see a movie was justified.
Normally, I do not even go to super hero movies (that's my husbands department, lol) but I am glad I did go to see this movie and you must see it and will be gald you did too!

This was a great movie. Robert Downey Jr. is Back ! The plot was easy to follow and it really didn't seem like it was 2 hours long. Not too much violence but lots of cool effects. I appreciate a movie that younger kids can see without too much violence or adult content. Gweneth Paltrow was wonderful as Pepper. I loved the taking out the trash line

For once a comic book movie actually surpassed the trailers. So often the trailers are better than the actual movie. Not this time! Downey is excellent - Bridges is also good, and Gwyneth is... well... Gwyneth! The special effects are spot on too. Definitely go to a good theater for this one - you'll want the earth-shattering sound for the explosions.
Someone told me the professional reviewers didn't like this movie that much - don't listen to them! Its great!

Very well done, 2K adaptation of a 1960s comic book that I loved. Downey did a very good portrail of Tony Stark. The CG and animation and real character integration was very good. This is not a little kids movie but it is a very good guy movie. My wife did not know who Iron Man was except that it was a Black Sabbath song, but she liked the movie very much and thought it was very well done and would recommend seeing it also.

Not only have they made a movie EVERYONE can enjoy, Robert Downey Jr has redeemed himself as an actor and a human being! He has proven he's still got it, on every level. The movie is a thrill ride in itself. All the players were right on. LOVED IT!

I was thoroughly impressed with Ironman. I thought Robert Downey, Jr. played an excellent Tony Stark and the special effects were top notch. The humor that was scattered in was also done very well and never out of place. All in all, this is definitely one of the best movies in this genre.
