This film looked like they had a great story to start with and then gutted half way in once they got scared that a cartoon about an old man would not sell. Never let marketing lead creative! There were no touching moments (the fireside chat was SO forced), characters were all over the place other than Ed Asner, the score was amazingly weak, they took no time at any one place, and 1 talking dog is fine but 40 was way way too many. I was this close to walking out during the bi-plane 'dogfight' at the end. I expected this sort of film from Dreamworks but from Pixar I thought higher of them. Especially after Wall E being so amazing. I need Finding Nemo on blu-ray to come out quick to remind me that John Lassiter still has a soul.
When Speed was racing the movie was amazing. When he was not, which is a good chunk of the middle, it dragged. You could cut out 30+ minutes of this way to long 2 hour and 15 minute movie and it would have been perfect. The colors were incredible and it was very much the old Speed Racer (the kid and monkey get anoying if you are over the age of 9 and its very kitch at times) which is fine mostly it was dragging between scenes in the middle that wasn't the best. But the race at the beginning and the one at the end were incredible. I just want to see those again.
Not just a great superhero movie but a great movie

Iron Man is good in the way Spider-Man 1 was good. Film wise its better in a lot of ways. But when the first Spider-Man film came out it started the big rush for comics in films. Iron Man has taken the next step in the genre. A must see. P.S. Stay through the credits for an extra scene!
