This movie rocked. It starts out a little slow but really turns it on and never looks back. The action scenes are AWESOME. You have to see this movie on the Big Screen. Not much more I can say than GO SEE IRONMAN!!!

This ranks right up there with Superman II and the first Spiderman film as one of the best. Character development is engaging and captures all the best qualites of the comic versions and translating them to the big screen. Effects are fanatastic and flawlessly integrated into the film rather than just being there for to show-off. Very good performances by the big name actors as well. Can't wait to own on DVD so I can watch as often as I like. Homerun on Marvel Studio's first big production!

I just went and saw this movie having avoided the big crowds. This first thing I wanted to mention was that, even though the movie was over 2 hours long, it never dragged. I really appreciated the way that the character of Stark and Iron Man was fully fleshed out. Here we finally have a flawed (yet very likeable) super hero. (Although I think that alot of women may find his character a bit offensive). But hey, it's based on a comic book that is supposed to appeal to the 14 year boy in all of us. Robert Downey Jr. gave a fantastic performance with just the right amount of bravado, arrogance but compassion. Gwyneth Paltrow was also very good as Pepper. She was very believable as the assistant with the barely concealed crush on her boss. Jeff Bridges was also superb as the villain(although I wonder why all villains must be bald) This movie was a 2 hour and 6 minute thrill ride that never really let up. It is probably one of the better action movies I have seen this year and I would highly recommend it.

Of course, I am a fan of "superhero" movies. If you are too, this is worth the price of a ticket! When I first saw the scenes, I thought, "Robert Downey as a superhero!?!" The role fit him perfectly! I loved the humor, the action, and the relationships. Downey, Paltrow, Howard, and Bridges all had stand-out performances. It was neat to see the different character layers of Downey throughout the movie, and his dead-pan humor is so right on.

If you enjoyed Hulk, Batman, and Spiderman on the big screen, then this is a must see. Tons of action, tons of special effects, and a great story are all ingredients for an awesome and entertaining time at the movies. Don't worry if you never read the comic books when you were a kid or probably never even heard of Iron Man. This movies has it all and I guarantee that the entire family will enjoy it. The PG-13 rating is due to scenes of war between Iron Man and terrorists. It does get a little intense, but my 5 year old daughter was able to handle it.

Adults seem to enjoy Iron Man more than the kids. If there was more action in the beginning it would have been a great movie. My grandson, age 11, was bored for the 1st half of the movie. He said "way too much talking". As adults, we enjoyed the movie. It was entertaining, isn't that why we go to the movies?

This movie was good from beginning to end! It kept you on the edge of your seat and was funny, exciting, and interesting...I took my two children and they loved it! Both my boy and my girl equally...I can't wait till the sequal comes out...Robert Downey, Jr. is brilliant!

Great action flick, suspends the air of disbelief in many respectes helping engage the viewer to forget how Comic Book the premise is. Techonology in the movie is fantastic and soppy romance held to the bare minimum (gratefully)...5 stars for action. A comic book hero fans delight.

Well directed. Good, believable characters interacting successfully to produce a film that holds your interest from beginning to end. Special effects were appropriate and did not overshadow the plot. No excessive gore nor horror. Good film for anyone that likes action and Sci-Fi - and - all fans of the Iron Man comics.

This was my first movie for the summer of 2008 and believe me, I was not disappointed. Never having read the Ironman comics when I was growing up meant that I never had any introduction to the Ironman story or character till I sat down in the theater and the movie reel starting turning. However after watching this film I can say I will be looking forward to the next installment of this awesome story. The acting was great, the story line was well thought out and vetted, but the special effects were just downright incredible. It always amazes me just what those effects shops can do. If you have the time this summer, if you like non-stop action, and if you like movies that will keep you riveted to the screen, this is the one for you.

Excellent comic book movie telling and an excellent pair of actors (Downey Jr. and Paltrow) to carry our favorites into screen immortality. Robert Downey Jr. portrays Stark as a palatable human being before and after his transformation. Excellent movie, I was quite and pleasantly surprised!

This is by far one of the single best comic-book adaptations ever made. Not only does it capture the spirit of the comics, but it stands along as simply a great and enjoyable movie. Robert Downey Jr is absolutely brilliant as Tony Stark. It's easy to see how seriously he took the role. He is completely believable, as well as charismatic and sympathetic. All the other characters were equally as charming. Jeff Bridges was an incredible villian. This is the first time I've seen a villian "fake" his good side so well. Up until he reveals his true intentions, you would never guess that his motives were anything but altruistic. Finally the special effects were seamless. There was nothing cartoony or fake about them. The mechanics of the suit right down to the flaws inherent in its design were perfectly captured (e.g. limited power, difficulty taking the suit off). The attitude of the movie was also incredibly fun without sacrificing any of the serious undertones of the story (war profiteering, self destructive personalities). Finally, there was a little icing on the cake for comic fans at the end of the movie. Sit through the credits, it's totally worth it!

I am not a big comic book reader and never have been, but I knew exactly what was going on with this story. They did a great job developing the character and it really centered around Tony Stark, not Iron Man.
Great detail. Great action. Inspired a great sense of righteous justice. Awesome film!

You WILL get the bang for your buck with this movie. Always skeptical when it comes to comic book hero movies, I was pleasantly surprised. Robert Downey Jr. as a superhero?? Why yes indeed. Gwyneth Paltrow as a strawberry blonde?? A very superb one I might add...love those freckles! Bridges bald??? Quite menacing. And I just love Terrance Howard. This movie is wonderfully entertaining...a must see!

This is the best movie to hit theaters in a very long time. It has a great story line, great music, great effects, and characters with really believeable actions/ I had to be persuaded to see it the first time but enjoyed it so much I went back to see it again this weekend! There is a hook in the movie that leads me to believe there will be a sequel- I will be there opening night! The movie is that good! Forget comic books because this movie trumps any thing ever written about Iron Man. This is a great movie for every breathing soul on the planet! Run to see it- over and over and over....

The first of this trilogy hit all the right marks with an excellent balance of action, wit, and angst. Evenly paced, there was enough techno highlights to engage any geek but also plenty of people issues for the other half of mankind. A much better movie than any other Stan Lee creation since it didn't get mired in self-pity or stupid "Why me" moments.

If you love the comics then this is one not to miss!
Marvel Productions has proven that they can put it on the screen as well as on the page.
True to the story line, with all the fun, special effects, and gadgetry that one hopes for in a movie of this genre. No-one in my pack of 7 was dissapointed.
Fast paced, high tech, a touch of romance - this one pleased the whole crowd, seniors to grandkids. Go see it - you won't be sorry!

Great fan of Robert Downey, Jr and he delivered! Movie pushed the envelope of ditzy, beautiful girl who has the hots for the hero, but I guess it befits a storyline from the comics! Never was a comics reader, but I appreciated the gadgets, special effects, and rock 'em/sock 'em entertainment from a 21st century Hollywood production. Waited the whole movie for the song, but it doesn't come until the end; great punctuation to a great movie. Prepare for an adrenaline rush. Oh yeah...wait until the end of the credits for a tempting morsel.
