I think this was typical Shrek-Mike Myers humor. If you take a few minutes to enjoy the childish humor and stabs at jokes aimed at the adults, you will love this just like you have the others! I took my 3 and 11 year old boys, and all three of us enjoyed it. I can see this being added to our DVD collection so the little one can watch it over and over like he does the other ones.

I thought that this was an excellent movie. I read one review about someone who took and 11 month old? I sat at the end of a room of 4-6 year olds and they laughed and giggled and basically were very entertained with the movie.I heard a number of adults lol during the movie LIght entertainment well after the bad news every day, we need s lttle light enterainment. great movie . Provides diversion from the real world for a while.

We were very disappointed in the "Final Shrek".
There were so many things they could have done with the characters, and instead, they phoned it in with a boring and overdone "It's a Wonderful Life" story.
All of the mildly funny parts were overplayed in the previews and commercials, so they weren't funny when seen in context. We want to see the journey that Shrek and his friends have to take! The music was gone from this movie! They could have done a lot more with the family dynamic by aging the kids, so we could see how they turned out.
Overall, it was a disappointment... I won't even be adding this to my dvd collection.

Took my son to see this movie recently expecting the very worse, but was somewhat surprised that it was mediocre (from an adult's point of view) instead of really bad. This was a great movie to attend for my birthday with my 3 year old daughter. There was enough comedy in it for both of us, the story was good (not as good as the first 2 movies, but much better than the awful 3rd instalment). I have heard people say it's the funniest movie of 2010 - I don't think that is true, but it is cute and a great family movie. For me it was a little too short and there wasn't enough Puss in Boots or many of the other characters playing a big supporting role like there have been before. Fiona's character was great, as was Shrek, Donkey and Puss, but overall it really needed to be a little longer and hopefully the DVD release will be an extended director's cut version. I would definitely recommend this movie to all families!

I took my 3 year old son to this movie and we both loved it. I didn't think Shrek 2 or 3 were very memorable but this one is much more entertaining and comparable to the original. The animation was top notch and the storyline, while maybe more adult (emotionally), was very entertaining. It was a combination of the Shrek we love and the theme of "It's a Wonderful Life." This is one I can see again and again too.

I took my almost three year old granddaughter to see this. It was her first movie in a theater. She loves the Shrek movies she's seen at home so I thought this would be a good "test" the movie waters time. She liked it for the most part, although she did ask to go ride the motorcycles in the lobby a couple times and I doubt we would have survived without it.
I would have given this movie 4 stars except I didn't care for the "donkey abuse". I think this series has run its course.

We loved the movie, although this one seems more like a calling to the parents than to the kids. It wasnt quite as funny as the previous ones.

This was the best Shrek movie since the first Shrek movie. It put a nice twist on all of the characters and came out with a really strong message about life and love. And the kids liked it very much. Very good family movie.
