This movie is just a wonderful, imaginable story. It's just so great so interresting that the movie was like 1 entire day for me. If you saw the trailer and you see that it's not your cup of tea go see it, you will be thinking about it and if you don't go, you'll regret. It's better to see it in 3d. Try to see every detail. This movie deserves an Oscar. It takes you to their world, it was if you were with them. James Cameron and the team (Actors, screenplay...) did a terrific job, Bravo ! I don't what to say anymore, how to explain it it's just beautiful. It will live forever in the sotry of Hollywood.

It was a good movie. The basic premiss of the story is nothing new....good vs. evil, boy falls in love, sees the evil of his ways, moves to the side of good, helps good, defeats evil, lives happily everafter. The creatures, colors, and effects were very well done. 3D could have been better (if you have ever seen the 3D effects offered at Disneyworld). Overall, I would recommend this movie. It was very entertaining.

This movie was good but I felt the story line was weak. Character development was pretty good. The graphics were the best part and it is a must see in 3D. I would say yes go see it on the big screen in 3D for the experience. I would say a bit like the futuristic Pocahantas.

I loved the movie for other reasons that no one has really raved about.
The creativity in his fantasy world was like no other. From the steps lighting up, to the fiber optic bonding of your creature, to the way you claim your creature. There was so much from his imagination. Not your typical Sci Fi crap.
I didn't care for them chanting like monkeys. That kind of bothered me. I also thought the story was kind of week.
I did love to see Sigourney Weaver die. Now she can't be in the sequel.
I loved the fact that Cameron refused to do any cliche 3D movements or throwing crap at the screen. That was my favorite part. He let us just enjoy the depth of the world he created.
I also loved James Horner's work. What a great score.

Avatar is a great achievement on many levels, but not perfect by any means. I thoroughly enjoyed the graphics and special effects. It was visually awesome.
Flaws include: (1) 3D is not a high-value improvement. I would not pay extra to see it. This film would have been just as good without it. The glasses are a pain. (2) editing was flawed, several times the size of the Nuvi relative to humans changed inexplicably, (3) the painting of the military and the amoral corporate despoiler was heavy handed. You could argue that a lot of people who see the movie wouldn't get it if it were subtler and that may be right. (4) the script was often stupid and childish when depicting the military types. Didn't add to it.

The film was very visually intense. Lots of action and somewhat fast paced given the length. I read very little about the film prior to viewing. Some other criticims I have heard are valid. It is violent; lots of war. I would not take children under the age of 10 to see this film. They will not understand the social messages, which are abundant and I believe profound. The conception & design of the alien land, animals and it's people were amazing. The plot is a bit perdictable, however there is so much more to AVATAR that one can overlook that. If you do not come away with some tears and feeling as if humans need to get thier priorites straight...you missed the whole point.

I do not frequently go out to the movies but the hype for Avatar inticed me to take the family out for this one. I was not disappointed. The setting of Pandora was wonderfully done. An imaginative planet that was brought to life with top notch computer graphics and the integration between real actors and computer generated characters was done better than I have ever seen. The premise of a crippled man being a hero whos mind transends itself into a character that is physically inspiring was a nice twist. Despite the length, the movie did not really have any slow points or scenes that were unnecessary. Well done

I was somewhat skeptical since the movie was hyped up quite a bit. This was the first time I saw a movie in 3D and it was awsome. I found myself dodging particals that appeared to be floating right in front of me and was completely amazed at the visual effects. This was my second time seeing the movie and I was even more in awe this time. The first time I was in complete awe of the detail and the effect. The second time allowed me to focus on the more subtle elements of the move, and I was not disappointed. Although some plot elements are quite predictable, the visual experience makes up for it. The emotional interaction of the main characters is powerful, tears came to my eyes by the end.

I'm not a big sci-fi fan; I agreed to see this movie more because my husband wanted to see it. I'd been apprehensive because it's nearly three hours long and I often rate a movie by how many times I look at my watch. Well not only did I NOT look at my watch even once, I was most definitely captivated by the entire movie - from the action-packed and often sweet storyline, to the breathtaking scenery and special effects. I absolutely did not want this movie to end - loved it!
