The film was very visually intense. Lots of action and somewhat fast paced given the length. I read very little about the film prior to viewing. Some other criticims I have heard are valid. It is violent; lots of war. I would not take children under the age of 10 to see this film. They will not understand the social messages, which are abundant and I believe profound. The conception & design of the alien land, animals and it's people were amazing. The plot is a bit perdictable, however there is so much more to AVATAR that one can overlook that. If you do not come away with some tears and feeling as if humans need to get thier priorites straight...you missed the whole point.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
