At first , I thought it was going to be like the story book, so I was disappointed. When I realized it wasn't, I watched it for what it "was", a different twist to Alice and Wonderland. Then I enjoyed it more and more. In order to enjoy the movie, one really has to enjoy fantasy. This movie is full of unusual things. I think the photography and artistry was Very Well done ,but there again it is full of fantasy. I would recommend it to 9 year olds and up, any one for a world of fanciful dreams.

This movie was well done. I enjoyed the colors, costumes and cgi effects. I especially liked Johnny Depp's makeup.
To me this was a typical Tim Burton, Johnny Depp movie. I wasn't surprised by anything. The dialogue was a little stiff sometimes. I'm glad I saw it but I don't have any need to see it again whereas some movies I like to watch over and over again on the big screen - Avatar being one of them.

Personally, I loved this movie. I think the key thing is that everyone is expecting this movie to resemble or even replicate the original Disney's Alice in Wonderland. That isn't what this movie seems to be intended to do. This movie used a little bit more of the language from the books, and that really added to the feeling of being closely related. Truth be told, this movie is less for children than you would think. It has a bit of violence that was very unexpected and some of the monsters may scare younger children whose parents, under the misconception that this will be a remake of the original, take them to see it.

The starring cast presented a GREAT performance throughout the movie! Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, and Crispin Glover showed enthusiasm and increased their performance with total drama fitted for their characters. Anne Hathaway illustrated her delicate manner once again with such grace. Johnny Depp did a wonderful performance with his character as the Hatter and expressed some of his humor as well. Overall, this was a movie that I would recommend to friends. It showed an increasingly fun adventure!

Best movie I have seen in a long time. A must see in the 3D version. I never read the novel and only somewhat familiar with the main characters so I cant critique between the two. Alice seems to be a free thinking adventurer and all the other characters are fantastic and unique. It's a story within a story. Very creative.

We saw this in the balcony at the Warren Theater. The 3D effects were ok. From what I understand this movie was shot in 2-D and converted to 3D, and it shows. Don't get me wrong, it was an enjoyable movie but everything was just ok. Depp reminds me of Scissorhands again. Story was predictable. I expected a more vibrant color palette from Tim Burton. Overall an enjoyable film, but I would catch a matinee or wait for it on Blu-Ray. Definitely not worth the $46 for two tickets.

I really enjoyed the movie but wanted especially to comment on your ETX system which was crystal clear with awesome sound. Its still not as good as 70mm 15 perf double strip Imax but it is superior to the "LieMax" or Imax Lite" that some theatres have installed.

This movie was good and I do enjoy 3D movies, but overall for the price that they now charge for 3D (not even IMAX either) it was not worth it. As for the small kids, there are scenes that are not OK. For instance a dragon's head is cut off. Maybe I am old school, but the cutting off of any head, even animated, is not OK. Granted it wasn't like a horror movie with blood dripping but it was graphic enough!

I think that this movie is good to watch in theaters and I love the new twist that this movie has, compared to the book and the previous movies.
It's a bit dark at some parts, so it might get scary for the little ones if you're thinking on bringing them. For teenagers, I recommend watching this in theaters, and for the adults, YES, watch this in theaters because it just wouldn't be the same if you didn't.

While I understood before seeing the movie that it would be far different from the original, I hoped that the film would capture the pathless wandering that led Alice to these magnificent characters in the first place. Instead, I saw a typical hero movie in dressed in Wonderland costume. Though I must say, it was well-dressed. Burton's visual mastery was obvious. The movie grabbed randomly at pieces of Carroll's originals and twisted the references to the point that the outcome was ridiculous, and not in the way that Carroll intended.

I was originally skeptical about the making of a "sequel" to Alice in Wonderland because i don't think a movie has been made that does the original justice. Having said that, I thought Tim Burton did a wonderful job incorporating elements of the beloved original with the new. I loved Mia Wasikowska whose mannerisms and looks were perfect for Alice and Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter did a phenomenal job as usual. I wish the jabberwocky would have looked more original than a dragon and that the end was a little less predictable; but other than that i loved the movie and woud see it again. Though i must recommend that you see it in 3D. Falling down the rabbit hole just wouldn't be the same without it.

This movie is Tim Burton's way of tacking onto the original Alice in Wonderland Disney story. Keep in mind that this is a Disney movie. The look of the movie is wonderful but the 3D doesn't really add much to it. The characters are very flat and Johnny Depp is basically Jack Sparrow through out. I got pretty bored halfway through and the ending just fell apart entirely. Of course, I should have seen that coming when they started foretelling that Alice has to kill the Jabberwocky. Sadly "Alice In Wonderland" was a stunning disappointment to me & my 8 yr. old son. Typically Burtonesque in both style & script with the "Bonus" of being displayed in 3-D. Some of the dialogue was undecipherable, the acting was way over the top (Helena Bonham Carter, What happened to you)? But most of all it's boring, boring, boring. I only gave it 2 stars for the special effects which weren't that special but hallucinogenic enough to keep me awake. No small feat. Do yourself a BIG favor & save your money. Trust me.

I absolutely adored everything about this movie- visually stunning and wonderfully acted by all. As soon as the movie ended I was planning when I was going to go see it again!

Yes, the acting was a little off a moment here and a moment there ; however, isn't everyone mad! When this movie was over, I was inspired to believe in the impossible. Walt Disney would be proud. The 3D was great! I can't wait to see it again.

This movie was absolutely amazing!! It totally lived up to the hype -- the special effects and 3-D was great! In my opinion, it was better than Avatar but that could also be because Alice in Wonderland plays with perspectives and size of body parts a lot, but that's why seeing it in 3-D was ssooooo cool!! I was engaged the entire time and it felt like it was not long enough!! I gotta go see it again :D

I went to see the movie with my 15 year old daughter and we loved it, well most of it the White Queen was VERY dissapointing she was BORING. Everyone else was great!
