I went to see what I thought would be a funny movie given the cast....wait till it's in dvd to see it...that way you can fast forward a lot.

Both David and Tina are wonderful. What can you say about two great comedians?
As another reviewer noted, the movie itself was not non-stop laughs. There are parts of the film that are hilarious, but other parts are droll and "yawn" - very inconsistent. (stay through the credits though!)
I'd probably wait for video on this one.

One of the funniest movies I have ever seen. But I would not take many youths to this movie. A very hard PG-13. A nice movie to see on a date . There must be over 100 funny parts in the movie. (Very entertaining !) The funniest part is when Tina Fey and Steve Carrell to get in to a strip club. They have to show there moves on a pole! I would see it today! one again, this is the E review I repeat see it today!

I have read several of the reviews on here about how this movie was slow, unfunny, etc and I have to disagree...completely.
Let me start by saying I was very worried that all of the funny stuff from the movie was in the trailers and that this movie was going to suck and I was completely wrong. Thankfully.
Steve Carell and Tina Fey together is a perfect combination of fun and laughter and together they have a great chemistry. We found ourselves laughing out loud through the entire movie to the point we probably missed half of the movie.
Is the movie slow in a couple of parts, yes, but it's not enough to detract from the rest of the movie and how funny it is. For any married couples, you can relate to and understand what this couple is simply trying to do on a date night. It's great fun and enjoyment. You won't be disappointed.

I haven't laughed this much in a movie...ever. Steve Carell and Tina Fey are awesome comedians and to have them together in a movie was genius. Great cast too =)

Being a huge fan of The Office - and the potential of a Tina Fey + Steve Carell match-up - my expectations were fairly high. While there were several laugh-out-loud scenes these were often drowned out by too much silence in-between the guffaws. We all wanted to keep laughing - all the time - throughout the whole flick - but it simply fails to give us this release. It's as if the movie eventually starts to take off like a dragster and then immediately slams the brakes on. The scenario repeats itself several times. This one might be best to rent - so you can speed through the "un-funny" parts.

If you have seen the previews, then you have seen 95% of the funny parts of this movie. Fey and Carell are usually great improv actors, but either they are losing their game, or I'm just getting too used to them. This movie seems like it should be hilarious. The problem is, it just isn't. The story: Married couple with kids. Their marriage has become a bit stale. Mayhem ensues, but its just mayhem. Not the funny kind, either. The big problem is the story. It tries too hard to be a serious movie and the laughs were way too far apart. Definitely not a "must see". Hot Tub Time Machine was better than this.
