I was very disappointed. The trailers looked like it was going to be hilarious but it did fall short of expectations. Would have rather had it less hyped and have been a surprise. Love the actors in it but the humor definitely lacked a bit.

Thought the second half was funnier than the first half of the movie. Never seen Wahlberg in a comedy before, so that was a little getting use to, but he did a good job. Will Ferrell was hilareous! Would definitely see it again when it comes out on DVD.

I loved it !! I forced my 19yr old son to go with me so that we could have some time to bond before he left for college. We both found it to be one of the funniest movies we'd seen in a long time. First of all, the dialogue was hilarious. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were extremely funny as Cop opposites. Yes, folks, there is going to be violence in a cop movie, even in a comedy about Cops. Yes, the humor is "over-the-top"--it's a Will Ferrell movie, so that should go without saying. I simply loved the movie, laughed my sides off, and wasn't bored even once during this movie. Most movies today do have boring spots in them. Not this one. I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end and would go see it again & I rarely say this. It was great fun for me and the rest of the audience at the theater. Bravo!!

The violence was over the top for a Will Farrell comedy. The credits at the end of the movie were fabulous; so it would have been nice if the plot had been made clearer in general to tie to that theme. When Farrell figured out what was really going while he was walking the beat, the couple of lines he delivered to explain what he found to his partner and his Captain were almost lost in the chaos. Maybe that's why some folks say there was no plot.

I was very excited to go see this movie by just who was in it. I knew it would be good just b/c its 4 different actors with all different acting skills. I just didn't like the story line, it seemed very long and not as funny as I was hoping for. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg made a perfect comedy team as the forensic accountant (Ferrell) and the tough talking cop (Wahlberg) with many funny moments and Michael Keaton was great as Captain Gene. But too many stunts and over the top jokes. Also they cut the second scene with Derek Jeter out of the film for some reason. Stay for late scene after credits.

The movie does have its moments.
However, all of them were in the trailer. The movie does not provide for many more funny scenes and the jokes feel forced and "been-there-done-that" often. Maybe it's Will Farrell's style, but he was the most creative part. For example, it's too over-the-top to have the Captain present his second job and the reasons why he has his part-time gig.

I didn't expect much, but even that wasn't delivered. I went because I thought the hubby would like it. He didn't even like it. On the way to the car, I found out he had been waiting for me to bail. I'd been waiting for him to bail.
We'd spent so much on the Cinema Suites, we waited the movie out. If we'd been in a regular theater, we would have been long gone.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I did not enjoy this movie. The characters were foolish, and the satire was unsophisticated. If you like action movies, which I don't, this had some good car chase scenes. The plot made no sense. I thought the movie was a complete waste of time.

Will Farrell carries this movie. Unfortunately Mark Wahlberg (great in action movies) comes off a bit flat as does (surprisingly) Michael Keaton. Loved all the gags, environmental greenies are gagging at all the Prius jokes.
