The action in this interesting film is too quick and loud to really appreciate. But Seth Rogen, humor both in his acting and his co-writing of the script elevates it to another level. Taiwanese pop singer, Jay Chou is suprisingly good and funny as a straight man to Rogen's hot tempered rich boy antics. Worth seeing but bring earplugs. I saw it in 3D and it was good but again too quick and tumultuous to appreciate the great special effects.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Best racing horse movie, ever!

I've seen "Seabiscuit" and all of the other racing horse films, but this one was the best by far. Amazing that it was ll true. They even had the real woman owner doing a cameo. Diane Lane was great as Penny Chenery, the indomitable owner of Secretariat. Also, John Malkovich was his usual great self and hilarious as the French trainer Lucien Laurin. They got some big-arse red horse to portray secretariat and he came back to life in this movie which makes you feel as though it is all happening now and you're living through it, with amazing closeups of the races that you normally wouldn't see. Very emotional film as well. Great family movie but exciting even if you're not into horse racing. This was part of America's History!
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg made a perfect comedy team as the forensic accountant (Ferrell) and the tough talking cop (Wahlberg) with many funny moments and Michael Keaton was great as Captain Gene. But too many stunts and over the top jokes. Also they cut the second scene with Derek Jeter out of the film for some reason. Stay for late scene after credits.
I ignore critics, but they were right that this one had no plot and nauseating man on man jokes. Not funny, nor exciting unless you have an alternate lifestyle.. Maybe they aimed this one at that demographic.
