This movie is a family friendly movie. I had not encountered ANY cursing, sex or filth that would be offensive to a child. It was a great action movie as well. We watched this movie with our 12-year-old son and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the perfect blend of action, humor, magic, romance and special effects. The subtle references to Jedi powers were especially humorous! We got a kick out of how they incorporated the old Disney version of The Sorcerer's Apprentice into this modern version. A great "escape" movie suitable for the entire family.

Disney has done it again. Put an old story into a movie and you come out wanting more. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. What do those newspaper critics know. This was a wonderful movie filled with unexpected suspenseful scenes, and a particularly fun scene I was happy to see the writer and director brought from the original "Apprentice." It had more serious suspense than I anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise. And it pleased my 'inner child' with that nod to the original, which I had also not been expecting.
I also really enjoyed how the 'geek' combined chemistry with alchemy, because magic and science are one in the same after all! All in all, a great film that I'll see again while it's still in the big screen!

Wasn't sure what to expect, and walked out of the theater wanting to see it again. Great to see Nic Cage having fun, and Jay Baruchel was a perfect geek. The original short from Fantasia has always been a favorite, and I am so pleased with the story that they made it into. The intro flew by so fast my young daughter didn't even "get it". Could have explained it better, I think. My 10 year old sat at the edge of her seat the whole time. I didn't like the casting of the apprentice at all. The movie was enjoyable and I had a fun time. I wish there were more magic practice scenes and less walking around NY.
