Great Animation movie. I agree with one of the reviewers, the movie has episodes of violence.... animated, performed by owls...... I wouldn't recommend it for children under 5. Nevertheless, it was a great movie, wonderfully done. It taught a lesson of loyally and bravery; family and fight for justice. These are important principles we have to teach our children, especially now when our country is led by a socialist to the oblivion.
When is comes to the movies involving animals, whether real or animated, one cannot go wrong. I enjoyed this movie. There was nothing complicated, sophisticated, and cumbersome or slow moving in this movie. Just one very cute and witty movie with the adorable animals. This movie is good to see with your kids or without kids. It's a great movie to finish your evening with. My salute to the animal trainers, animators, special effect people and cinematographers.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

bad take on an excellent Japanese Animation

I had mixed feelings about this movie. I had a nagging feeling that the director was trying to make an ANTI- Ballywood movie. The move is based on the JAPANESE ANIMATION, a wonderful animated series. I have a lot of questions about casting; most of the actors could hardly act. And what's up with casting Caucasian and Indian actors to portray Asian/Japanese characters. The dialogues were awkward and cumbersome. The story line unraveled slowly, but that didn’t help getting confused in the middle. Few scenes had no links between them; that made it difficult to make a logical connection between various parts of the story. I have to give credits to the computer animation and special affect people. They did their best. The 3D added to the beauty of it. But overall, the move was a disappointment.
It was quiet an experience. The theatre was packed; one could hear the pin drop. Over 2.5 hours went relatively fast. I would consider it THE BEST drama of 2009 and 2010. And I am finally convinced that Leonardo DeCaprio can act. I think it is his best work so far. The movie was brilliant, engaging, clever, exhilarating, thrilling. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. Great cast, cinematography, sound effects, special effects are unbelievable. Definitely an event, definitely a great movie.
I enjoyed the movie very much. It is a very well made, star studded, very entertaining magic movie. Great to watch with the kids, or without the kids. This movie is not a complicated movie; one does not have to engage brain cells in trying to solve philosophical riddles or get involved in the sophisticated discussions. The movie has enough humor and wittiness, enough acrobatics and action to entertain everybody regardless of age. I highly recommend this movie to sit, enjoy it and relax.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

That was quiet an experience. Absolutely incredible movie. From the actors and animation to the cinematography, sound effects and the music. I am not sure if it is a children's movie though. I don't think so.... Maybe PG 13...There is violence and lot of it. . But this movie took us beyond an animation or a fantasy; this movie teaches a lesson. Overall, probably the best movie I have ever seen.
